The Panihati Dandomahotsavtala, more popularly known as 'Panihati Mahotsavtala' is where the festival of Shri Raghunath Goswami Danda Mahotsav (Chirer Mela) is celebrated every year to mark the arrival of Shri Nityananda Mahaprabhu during the Shukla Trayodashi Tithi in 1517 A.D. at Panihati. A fair is also held nearby. The mul-mandir of Shri Nityananda Mahaprabhu is located here and is adjacent to the holy banyan tree below which Mahaprabhu had sat with his disciples. This very historical and holy place is located adjacent to the Panihati Ferry Ghat auto stand which is at walking distance from Panihati Ferry Ghat and Panihati ISKON Temple.

Panihati Dandomahotsav ( Panihati Chida Dahi Utsav ) or Chaida Mela is one of the holly fair of Hindu culture. Every year it is arranged at Panihati Ferry Ghat or Mahotsab Tala Ghat. But from last 10 years Mela size become more and more small. but in morning time you can have a great time there if you can able to visit within 5am in morning.

The HISTORY of Gaudiya Vaishnav Hariii Boll ISKCON should take care of this place, otherwise some people will pollute it by smoking cigarettes and bringing nonveg items inside this Holy place.

Every year, Chida Dadhi Mahotsav takes place here on Jyaistha Shukla Triyodashi to commemorate the punishment given by Sri Nityanada Prabhu to Sri Raghunath Das Goswami. Therefore the fesitaval is also called Danda Mahotsav.

Lord Nityanand gave his Mercy here to Srila Raghunath das goswami and asked him to serve Chida Dahi to all here on the banks of Ganges under this age old Banyan tree
