Panemangalore Old Bridge - Bridge in Bantwal - Dakshina Kannada, India

The old bridge across River Netravati at PaneMangalore was the lifeline of transport between the coastal region and other parts of our state. Built during the British rule, the steel bridge made life easier for the travellers. Earlier, the mode of transport was boats and then bullock carts or motor vehicles from the other side of the river. The bridge is now declared unfit for heavy vehicles. Increasingly the new bridge at B C Road is being used. But, this bridge remains a very dear part of the memories of everyone who has crossed it at least once in the lifetime.

The old bridge of Panemangaluru which was used as an binding nerve between Panemangaluru and the BC Road. It was built across Nethravati river in Panemangaluru. This place also has historic monuments from the time of Tipu Sultan and British. The Artillery of Tippu Sultan's time is placed beside the Old Bridge road. The architecture of Old-bridge would also give fab view during sunrise and sunset. The visitors can reach this place via Bus or Train. The Bantwal Railway Station is also at walkable distance to this place.

Too narrow.got stuck in traffic as 2 trucks were crossing at same time and had blocked entire bridge
