One of the oldest temple in this area where pandavs use to worship lord shiva. I found this shivling unique because it is not in ovel or round in shape, it is slant in size. This temple is very small and there is nothing much inside this temple.

It is true that our present is somehow the result of our past and that we should learn from our past. This is historic temple where Pandav's use to worship lord Shiva daily. This temple was a part of there palace which lies under the earth today surrounding this temple. History shows its traces by such epic monuments which are beyond words.

Located in the ruins of the old city of Hastinapur, presiding diety of Pandeshwar temple is Lord Shiva. Locals share the Shivling is around 5000+ years was put up by Yudhistra. And also share this is the place where both Kauravas and Pandavas received their formal education here. Ancient Well is behind the temple. There is continuous flow of water, hence the Shivling is reduced. Next to temple, there is a Goddess Kali temple. Behind the temple, is a cave which was used ancient times , is closed now. Pancha Pandavas idols can also be seen on wall here. Huge Banayan tree is inside the temple complex. There is an old huge vatavruksha (banyan tree) in the temple complex where devotees light lamps and offer prayers. Around 3 Kms from Hastinapur Bus Stand, Can reach by local auto or your own transportation. Space for parking is available. Must visit place to know and respect our heritage.

Ancient temple of lord Shiva from the period of Mahabharata. It is established by Pandavas. Temple campus has a well called amrut kuwan. It is considered that the water of this well is like nectar.

Visited on 20 Jan 2018..... this is temple of great pandavas, well this temple is too old and statues of these are thousands of years old. Due to poor maintenance these statues become unrecognizable. I am hurt because this is very great part of our culture and temple is hardly getting good infrastructure while jain's temples are growing day by day here.
