Picked this place for weekend ride! And what a ride it was there was a slight drizzle throughout the ride to this place from Bengaluru. It did come down for a bit and we took shelter under a massive tree! Place itself is serene and scenic. The road runs parallel to this lake over which the dam has been built. Mountains are all around and we couldn't see them most part of the ride due to the cloud cover. But it did open up as we approached the dam. We were the only ones around this place - it was pretty early for the day. We walked around and soaked in this beautiful place. It is maintained pretty well and clean all around. A must visit place if you are in this vicinity
Nice dam to spend quality time. It is a small dam. Water is polluted. We can go near water in backside of the dam. Not allowed to enter above the dam. No separate parking area we should park on roadside.
Enjoyable bike ride from Bangalore, No traffic good and wide roads, but nothing is available at dam except the view as shared in pics
Rode here on our bikes for a weekend ride. The route is nice and you'll find a lot of fellow bikers on the way. The dam is picturesque, especially in the winter months when it'll be covered with fog. This was one of the pitstops on the way to Bettamugilalum forest. Bring refreshments as you won't get anything nearby. Also, watch out for monkeys.
A quiet and calm place for a short weekend getaway. More than the destination, the travel to this place is calming and rejuvenating.
This dam is around 70 kilometers away from Bangalore in the outskirts of Tamilnadu. Beautiful place with amazing scenic views.....nice place to visit specially riders would enjoy more given the kind of roads one has to cover while reaching this place.
The route to Panchapalli dam is very beautiful. We had gone to Rocky Ridge cafe then extended our ride to Panchapalli dam. The sad part is the gate to the dam is always closed and officials refused to let us in. Even walking is now not allowed. Earlier say 5 years back we could walk over the dam and enjoy the view. But it's definitely a beautiful place for a Sunday ride. No place nearby to eat other than the Rocky Ridge cafe. So club it together.
Nice long drive from Bangalore. Last 5 KM drive is very scenic. Recommended if you want take drone shot. Best time to visit is Monsoon as water level is high and near by area is lush green. There is a way to go till water. Less known place so expect quite, peaceful and cleanliness.
