Panchamukhi Anjaneya Swamy -Temple - Hindu temple in Kunigal - Tumakuru, India

It is over-awing for sure Been planning to visit this place for some time. I like to visit more than a place on my weekend rides So planned Someshwara Temple and Kunigal lake to the list. It is mammoth and visible from a distance. It looks even more mammoth when you reach it - you get completely dwarfed! There is ample parking for 2 & 4 wheelers. There is enough place for you to get a bus too!! You can reach right at the foot of the structure and take in the wonder. Walked around and took lots of pictures. A must visit for sure. It is very close to the highway and hop away. Please do visit

Visited on 21 November 2023, with my family. Incredible excellent and excited to visit this temple, the powerful Panchamukhi Anjaneya swamy is constructed with well planned way, it's extremely nice to see visit and get blessed. I will visit with my friends next time.

Beautiful panchmukhi hanuman and Shani temple. 161 feet tall Hanuman stands on all it's grandeur. Pooja's are done well. Plenty of parking space. Some small shops outside and also within the temple for buying Pooja and souvenir type things. Ticket of Rs. 10 if one wants to go up to the legs of the statue. Prasada for sale and as part of temple is also given. Donations are also requested. Overall good place for a trip from Bengaluru.

Not getting the attention it deserves, should be advertised/marketed well, just like they doing for Adiyogi. Its very well maintained, located near Kunigal, could a be nice family weekend getaway. Road is quite narrow for about 2-3km, ample of parking space right in front of the temple. Worth a visit.

Very nice temple and statue is ultimate. But temple has become a business hub for the priests here. They literally beg to offer pooja to god and buy prasada. And one person screams in mic to go to him and ask for fortune . Do they really need to do this?. For temple and statue, i wanted to give 5 star. But cant bear watching thier business tatics.

You can add it to your itinerary when next visit Kunigal town. Approximately 5 kms from the bus stand. You can hire an auto and visit the place. You many need around 30 minutes to complete the tour of the temple complex. The 161 feet tall Hanuman temple is quite extraordinarily built with concrete. Visible from quite a distance. The statue of Hanuman stands on the temple and you can reach the foot of the statue by purchasing a ticket. The temple complex also has Shaneshwara temple and Basavanna temple at a short distance. Lot of parking space available. So far it is free. Some small eateries also available.

**Important Alert: Beware of Scam at Shanimathma Temple ** I want to draw attention to a concerning experience during my recent visit to the Shanimathma Temple, which I believe is crucial for others to know about. Please note that this issue is specific to the Shanimathma Temple and not the main Anjineya temple. While the main Anjineya temple itself is truly awe-inspiring, I encountered a distressing situation within the premises of the Shanimathma Temple that I feel compelled to share. Upon arriving at the Shanimathma Temple, I was prompted to purchase 'Navadanya' for 100Rs/-, a choice I willingly made. However, what unfolded afterward was quite unexpected and unsettling. A separate individual situated near the entrance insisted that I place the 'Navadanya' on a plate and perform an 'Archane' ritual. What took me by surprise was that this person, without any prior communication, performed the ritual themselves and then demanded an additional 50Rs/- for the service. Moving forward, as I entered the temple, I was guided to present the slip from the earlier interaction. Subsequently, I was directed to participate in another ritual involving pouring oil on a statue, which I assumed to be a customary practice. Upon completing this ritual, to my astonishment, I was asked for an extra 150Rs/-. What's important to highlight is that at no point during these interactions was I informed about any associated charges. The lack of transparency regarding these financial demands was deeply concerning and affected the overall experience of my visit. I wish to clarify that this experience is exclusive to the Shanimathma Temple and does not reflect the practices of the main Anjineya temple. If you're considering a visit to the Shanimathma Temple, it's paramount to exercise extreme caution and be prepared for potential hidden charges. It's unfortunate that such occurrences can diminish the sanctity of a visit to a spiritual place. Stay informed, stay cautious, and ensure that your visit remains a meaningful and spiritually enriching one.
