Not much to see from hilltop. There is a old temple but renovation work was going on when we visited in November 2022. Around 15-20 minutes it takes to reach at hilltop. No proper path is there to reach hilltop. A nice terracotta Pancharatna temple is near the parking area which attracts me most at this place. There are few hotels where lunch can be taken.
On the foothills of Panchakot is situated the ruins of Panchkot palace and fort. Its this historical fort bearing the evidence of Bargi attack in Bengal which gives its name the Garpanchakot. Only 5 hours drive from Kolkata, Garpanchkot is enchanting with its lush greenery, hills, lakes and it is great natural and historical attractions. Tent House Resort in Garpanchkot adds modern comfort and luxury to the natural appeal. Unique Swiss cottages make the place, even more, appealing for a weekend stay.
Absolutely beautiful in monsoon and winters Garpanchkot is a must visit from our side. Away from urban hustle bustle yet filled with all urban comfort, this place will certainly make its space in your memory.

A small kingdom which was destroyed by Maratha Empire in 1741. Only one temple is survived, other construction has been demolished. "Borgi elo deshe khajna debo kise" . Watching this location from far distance you can easily say that there must be some tragedy happened. Digging into the history i found that 17 wives of the king committed suicide in a nearby well during the bargi attack. Now peoples are going there youths are clicking selfies, they must know the history and tell others about this tragedy. And there many shops are selling handcrafted items, please buy some to help the local economy. A must visit place, i will recommend you to go with your loved ones. And remember the roads are narrow so please drive safely, do not overspeed.
Nice place in Purulia district, WB. Old Temple and ruined fort at Panchokot hill, The Panchokot Palace was attacked by "Bargi" during the 18th century. Ras Modir is one of attraction of this place.
A good tourism spot for short stay. The place is hilly and old castle and temple ruins add to the attraction. Other than these, there's nothing much in here. Infrastructure could be improved.
The view of the place during rains is breathtaking.
This place is a tourist attraction . A beautiful place to visit. December is the peak time for tourist. This place has the ruins of a fort . Try to visit this place early for good view and you can avoid the crowd.
Very nice well maintained and renovated historic place. Dilapidated walls speaks off the past. A waterfall and hill temple also present on the panchet hill fir which a entry fee of 5rupees is charged.
