I didn't plan to visit this place.. on my way from kerala to tenkasi i stopped here.. to my surprise it was nice.. i went on a Saturday evening.. no crowd at all... They offer parisal boating and also bigger boats.. 300 rs per person for boating. There are lots of monkeys here.. they may snatch ur food items
Saddle dam is the boating point for Thenmalai eco tourism project. The eco tourism initiative is very nice idea. But few more value added service to be added for public. So that more domestic and interstate tourist will get attracted to the area.
The dam and reservoir is good. We can spend around 2 hrs over there. Boating charges is little bit on costlier side
The dam view is beautiful. There's a path to walk on the top, and they offer boating. It's connected to Thenmala Dam. You can enter for free, but you'll need to pay for boating.
Great place for a one day trip. Bus ride to the dam takes you to another location which is so serene and beautiful. Dont miss it. Honeymoon cottages are available at mountain tops and small islands. Will definitely try next time.
View of thenmala reservoir from the saddle dam top. Forest dept has boating and coracle rides from here. Boating costs around 300 per person .entire boat for 8 people costs around 2000 for 8 people for 30minutes (price as per 2022 december)
The coracle ride is a nice and fun experience. There are also bamboo boat ride and a bigger motor boat ride available here. All safety measures are followed and you don't have to worry taking your kids and family.
Try to visit here in evening time.. quite enjoyable climate.. if you come around noon . Its pretty hot
Need to walk alot, awesome viewpoint, you can see the beauty of western ghats. Either you can spend time in the dam or one can go to adventure park nearby this dam.

Nice place to visit with kids if your child loves animals. You can have a closer look at deer. There are many of them and they have a small recreation area for kids at the end with some swings and seesaws .
My friends and I visited the nearby dam and we were super hungry. We went to this hotel and ordered Schezwan chicken rice, veg noodles and beef roast. The taste of beef roast was amazing and still I remember the aroma and taste. And also their veg no
