A heavenly experience. After parking the car, there is a 3,4 km walk. Trekking jeeps are also available. Keep only the leech
Superb place for trekking and wildlife. Need to climb a lot, so come in a 4X4 or two wheeler(single) best time to reach: 5 am to 9 am. bring food & drinks(don't litter) during Night you can find Wild animals and is risky.
One of the adventurous place in Kerala in Idukki surroundings. Must try and visit in mng 6am time . It will be amazing
One of the best place for trekking and camping. Still unexplored by many people. Only 4*4 drive is recommended else you can walk . Its nearly 4-5 km. Please don't throw plastic and food waste and don't break beer bottles here because the place is home for so many elephants. Sunset and sunset will be a great experience from top of the hill. Keep enough water and food with you bcoz there is no shops on top.
Palkulam medu / paakullN meett ,One of best spots in idukki which is yet unexplored by many of us !! We can enjoy the nature and have one of the best off road experience both in a trip.. If you like waking it's will be great we can feel the nature with our bare foot. We can have the fresh flowing water from mini water falls enroute to the peak of hill. At the peak you can see the idukki & dam (Unfortunately fog didn't allow us to see this time), and you can see the fog floating in and out. There is small water falls & pond where we can refresh ourselves for sometime(Couldn't click since we were enjoying), as said by a native guy it is possible to camp there at night with tent which will be a natural experience but at a time a bit risky since wild elephants will be passing thru. Overall i would say , if you love to explore the nature this spot will be one of best in idukki. If you do want to know any other details just reply or comment to me.
My favourite place in idukki. Whole day we can spent there. Please be care while night stay as lot of wild elephants presence is there. Reaching the destination from churuli side is not a big task only 4km off road with hair pin bends. From two side we can reach here. One is from churuli side and other one is from maniyaramkudi side. From churuli side there is no dangerous routes. But only 4 wheeler and bikes can go. In the rainy season for bikes also little difficulty. A cave also one of the main attraction. but reaching the cave is too difficut. we need to trek through a chola.
There is so much distance to climb.. Beware.. Sometimes wild elephants will be there.. Will take about 2 hours for just to climb till the hill top
this place is just awesome. . not on the bigger tourism map yet as it cannot be reached easily. Place is untouched and unexploited, the place got its name from the small waterfall above palkulamedu hill. tips : 1) carry water (lots of it) 2) better to hire a jeep and a pro driver, don't try 4x4 unless you are an expert. 3) dont litter 4) beware of leech , so carry salt. 5) dont throw cig here and there as there is a probablity of fire. enjoy the serenity of nature . . .
It's so beautiful to watch. Good landscape. Similar to Swiss. Watching sunset is a rare seen because of clouds and fog. If you get chance it will be awesome.
Awesome place to visit. Nearly 3 km to hike and another 1 km up the hill. The hill is quite steep. So if you are tired, I would suggest you stay and explore the meadow. Its an elephant crossing zone.l, so be careful. The view from up top is beautifu
