Palash Queen Resort - Resort hotel in Barhanti - Purulia, India

Located near the lake. Good food and rooms are nice. They have also arranged a bonfire. This is a very good place for one/two days trip. If you want to get rid of exhausted city life for some moments, this might be a very good option. One can explore the small hills and jungle following the backside road of this hotel and nice sun-set view from the lake. In winter fresh date-juice and Khejur gur are sold by the villagers to the hotel. Had a very nice experience.

Mostly filled with fake reviews im guessing. The price is unjustified for the kind of room we are in, its not clean at all. Weirdly some rooms are entirely glass rooms with glass walls for washroom. Only good thing is the location which is closer to the lake and only from 3rd floor you can see the lake.

Other than the location nothing is amazing about the resort. Price doesn't justify it's quality of behavior and food. We spent 3 nights there. Food quality is below per and the manager is specially arrogant. Generators are not available and place like this requires it more . Overall we are not happy with it.

Like many people have mentioned already, the only plus point about this resort is the view from the top floor. Other than that, please avoid this place at all cost, if you have to stay at Baranti for more than a day. The rooms are not clean, you can find dust and dirt on the floors, even stuff left over by previous occupants. The bathrooms are also very unclean and depending upon your luck you can find a geyser or a cistern not working. The bedsheets are stained and they don't cover the mattresses (which are very old and torn anyway). The attendants, I would say, are well behaved and they try to attend to your needs promptly, but whether or not they can fix your problem depends upon how equipped they are at that time. Power outage is a huge problem here and the generator is practically of no use. Insects and mosquitoes are also amply available and I don't know how but they get inside your perfectly locked rooms. I didn't have any problem with the food, of course you can't get anything fancy but they work hard to provide food according to your diet preferences. It's also a good thing that they grow all vegetables on the property, so you'd probably be eating mostly organic vegetables. Over all, I don't think I would ever stay at this place again unless it's an emergency. Although it says "resort", it's not exactly what a typical resort looks like.

The Location is very good, just100 m from baranti lake. View from the top floor room is excellent and very picturesque. How ever the room rent charged is very high and not at all commensurate with the quality of room and services provided. Quality of food is rustic and not very hygienic, but may appeal to those seeking country fare.

A very comfortable stay with home made foods (they grow vegetables on their own ground alongside property). Well behaved staff. Clean and tidy rooms. Reasonable price. View from 3rd floor was awesome.

Food quality was very bad.. and rates were high, specially mutton curry.

Rooms: Clean and well maintained. Colour TV, Geyser, AC available in every room. Food: Delicious. They will serve five meals daily starting with Bed Tea and then Breakfast, Lunch, Evening Snacks and the day ends with Dinner. Also, they will arrange Bon Fire and Barbeque but those are chargeable. Service: Excellent. Atmosphere: Situated in front of Baranti Lake and surrounded with plants, an amazing place to watch sunrise and sunset from the terrace.
