Very nice ancient temple which is usually submerged in Ujani dam backwater. You can visit it during summer months when water levels drop. It is very beautifully made. Usually you would need a small boat ride to reach the temple from the shore. There are boats available nearby to do so. PS - Do not follow the google map route which may take you on other side of the shore from where you don't have boat service. Going via Palasdev village is right way to get there.

This is one more temple built by the Chalukya Dynasty. The temple can only be visited during the summer season when the water level of the dam is low. You can reach the village by your car or personal vehicle. Park it there and then need to look for a boat ride if there is some water and the temple is beneath. The best time to visit is around sunset.

While driving from Pune to Solapur road, after passing Bhigwan, we get the first view of Ujani dam back water and crossing the bridges of that back water at the left side we see a temple half in the water, if the dam is full then only the upper part of temple is above the water but with that only you can imagine the size of temple, looks like it is quite a big and old temple and curiosity gets build every time to see it from inside. This year in Maharashtra is very dry, there was very less rain and water level of Ujani dam got at the dead level and news coming that Palasdeo/Palasnath temple is come out of water and open to visit after.

This temple was totally submerged under Water in 1978 when Ujani dam was built! In past few years this temple came out of water.

Palasnath Temple, also called as palasdeo mandir, at Palasdeo, Ujani dam backwater , Maharastra. This is excellent old temple which is submerged under water of Ujani dam. It's get out of water when water level is very low in summer. One must visit this place in summer to witness sturdy designs & architecture of our old generations. This is shiva temple & it is in very good condition even after so many years under water.

Palasdo is 190 km from Pune on Pune-Solapur highway. This temple went under water after 1978 when Ujani dam was built and after that very few time, 2001, 2013, 2016 and this year 2019 temple comes out of water. Palasnath Temple Situated near Palasdeo village, this ancient structure, dated between the 9th and 11th century, was built by Chalukya Kings. Created in a Hemadpanthi style, the temple has beautiful stone carvings. This is a very unique type of shikhar not seen usually in these areas temples. These are not just a temples but very beautiful monuments of Indian architecture and stone carving which needs preservation. The backwaters of Ujjani Dam is wintering home for list of migratory birds such as Greater Flamingo. Bhigwan is also home to the fastest bird of animal kingdom .
