Well kept monastery which belongs to Zurmang Kagyu lineage. There's a restaurant and even a souvenir shop. Clean restrooms, parking facility also. But there's one drawback. You should book a taxi for both the side's journey. Else you will not be able to find a taxi back to Gangtok from here.

Worth the long way from Gangtok. Very peaceful and beautiful ambiance with great view of the forest and the ranges.

Just an hour's drive from Gangtok, Lingdum Monastery is a Buddhist pilgrimage destination. After visiting the Rumtek Monastry we headed towards another sprawling monastry, amid serene forested hills. The Lingdum monastery symbolizes the Tibetan Buddhist architecture. A huge statue of Lord Buddha is enshrined at the end of the hall; the statue is massive in size with a height of approx five meters. It is spreaded in a wide areas and the monks come there for retirement as learnt. One can find restaurants and eateries nearby. Many movies have been shot there and you get an astonishingly beutifull view. Highly recommended place and it is just around 20 kms from Gangtok and also very near to the Bajhakri falls which tourists visit a lot but skips the monastry.

One of the very calmful monasteries I have visited so far . The moment you step inside , you start feeling that sense of calmness. Very beautiful place to visit and I really hope that it remains as such without much crowd .
