Beautiful and clean pond in front of sree padmanabha temple, a tourist destination in Kerala
Padmatheertha pond (Padmatheerthakkulam) is the bathing ghat in the premises of the Padmanabhaswamy temple. Now the pond is not accessible to the public. There is a reference to this pond in a 13th century poem (Ananthapuravarnanam) by an unknown poet. The pond is referred as Ananthatheertham in the poem. The pond used to be refreshed by kochar, a rivulet from the Killi river. But now it is cleaned manually during the time of Murajapam. There is a vault in the pond which still holds the saligramams that were brought to create the idol of Sri Padmanabhaswamy.
Padmatheertha Pond, located in Trivandrum, is a sacred site renowned for its spiritual significance. Surrounded by lush greenery, the pond exudes a serene atmosphere, offering a peaceful retreat. Pilgrims visit to take a holy dip, believed to cleanse the soul. The adjacent ancient temple adds to the cultural allure. Visitors appreciate the quietude and the spiritual ambiance, providing a break from the urban bustle. While some note simple amenities, the majority value the unique blend of nature and tradition.

The Padmatheertha Pond and temple in Kerala, India, hold a sacred aura and historical charm. Situated in the heart of the Parassinikkadavu Temple complex, the pond is believed to be formed by Lord Parashurama's arrow and holds spiritual significance. Pilgrims take ritualistic dips here as part of their devotion. Adjacent to the pond is the Parassinikkadavu Muthappan Temple, dedicated to Lord Muthappan. The temple's unique rituals, folk art performances, and vibrant ambiance make it a cultural treasure. The Padmatheertha Pond and temple exemplify the fusion of spirituality, tradition, and local heritage that Kerala embodies. No cameras are allowed inside the temple or complex, I do understand but since I had my camera with me I could not go inside the complex.

Padmanabhaswamy temple is a Hindu temple located in Thiruvananthapuram.
Capital state of Kerala.
it is an abode of holiness and divinity par excellence, but the underbelly of the temple is home to a mystery-ridden chamber with a majorly spooky backstory.
The shrine is one of the most revered abodes of Hindu deity Maha Vishnu; reason is that the God resides in Anantha Shaiya (in supine position on the giant serpent Shesha) with a lotus attached by its stem to the Lord’s navel and on the divine flower sits Lord Bramha. In the sanctum sanctorum are also present two consorts of Sri Vishnu, Sri Devi and Bhu Devi, a rare sight.
The temple was originally built in 6th century A.D., and later beautified further by the Kings of Travancore after 10 centuries. The royal family of Travancore is believed to be descendants of the adored saint Kulashekhara Alwar. The temple was built almost exactly like the famous Sri Adikesavaperumal Temple at Thiruvattar.

Large temple in front of padmanabhaswamy temple east entrance. One can spot fishes and swan in the pond.
Ancient temple. Its originality is preserved very carefully. Old handcrafted sculptures makes the temple much more appealing and attractive. Overall its a peaceful and spiritually rich atmosphere.
Men have to wear only dhoti. And women can wear dhoti over their salwar kurta or traditional saari is the dress code here
