It was really a wonderful experience visiting this temple that has been built some hundreds of years ago and rests on top of the mountain with a lake at the bottom. I visited this place along with my family and felt blessed by devi padmakshi. Must visit place in warangal sightseeing.
Built during Kakatiya reign in 12th century, Padmakshi Temple is one among the oldest temples in Hanamkonda. Dedicated to Goddess Padmakshi, also known as Padmakshamma, this temple is especially visited by women devotees during the Bathukamma festival. The major attraction of this temple is the pillar Annakonda. Annakonda Pillar is made up of granite and is built in quadrangular shape. The walls of the pillar showcase carvings and inscription related to Jain religion, especially dedicated to Goddess Kalalaya.
This temple gives the connection between snaatn dhrm and jain dhrm. In the temple premises carving of Lord Mahavir is prominently visible. Along with the deity Padmakshi devii, mhaaviir svaamii jii is also there in front. Situated on a small hillock so one needs to climb up using the stairs. A perfect site for dhyaan and saadhnaa.
I can clearly see the Buddha face in Padamakshi Aman statue. This is one of the example, how Buddhism converted to Hinduism with the people. It is located in small hill. It must be very old created cave temple for the mediation split for Buddhist. It is created in such a way to water comes inside the cave, spray over the statue. Below the hill a small water pond and newly constructed park is there. Place is divine and peaceful.
Divine place. The surroundings are strewn with Temple generated used garlands and flowers and puja items. Temple administrator needs to take care to prevent it.
Very very spirited pleasant n beautiful nature invites us . holiest place but need more development n publicity to attract every traveller around the world.
