This place is now called LasPasa. It's good, but taste is not consistent as I think chef keeps changing. If your in Mahe there is no better option than this or I should say your only option.

Has a wide variety of ice-creams to choose from. Quantity of ice-creams are good and worth the penny! Quality can be improved though. Flavours are lost somewhere!
This is the second branch of Paal Ice. They have ample parking space and is easy to spot right after the Mahe bridge. But the main drawback I saw was, it is situated in the middle of liquor shops (which was earlier closed due to the ban) and this makes most families hesitant about going there. The seating capacity is around 40. I think most people (including me ) wouldn't mind going an extra 10kms to the Thalassery branch, if you've been to both the places.
Its called French Empire restaurant. Ironically their french fries are inedible..fried to dark brown...may be too Frenchy for indians. There is nothing french about it. By the way, they had french toast by the name of bread roast..the chaps haven't heard of french toast. There is inadequate parking space. The only decent thing they served us was Horlicks for 55Rs...pretty difficulty to bungle it up, i guess
