OYO Serene Inn - Hotel in Madurai - default, India

They don't even deserve one star. It's not a place for Women nor for Men, too !! It's fit only for street fighters who can go and booze.. their beds, blankets, restrooms are the filthiest ones. Their TVs are damaged.. my god, the restroom is horrible. It don't even deserve to be in tie up with OYO. Ladies and family members, pls don't stay there.. it's not for us..

Decent room to stay overnight. Very reasonable pricing. Ideal place for a family of 4 as there are 2 bedrooms and a hall. Heater and bathroom light was not working in one room for us. They said the electrician is on the way but he never arrived. Other than that there was no problem. There are good places to eat at a walkable distance.

Room were ok. Price was too steep on certain days, even though rooms were empty. Of course businness runners cannot keep their promise to customer, but rather look for maximum profit. You generally cannot trust the words of any reception person in such cottages anywhere. That's true here too.

Staff wasn't available only and the manager was rude, unhelpful and careless. We always had to ask him for towels, AC and TV remotes, OYO kit running water, etc. And In spite of regular complaints, he kept saying "he's the manager and it's not his duty to serve the customers." Coffee was served by the security guard as the manager/staff was/were absent. And breakfast wasn't served only. Receptionist wasn't at his place half of the time. Stayers from the first floor had to come down to ask us about the receptionist. Pillow covers were dirty, the AC and TV (both) in one of the two rooms weren't working. TV showed only Tamil channels. Easily our worst experience till date.

The room is not bad, but the entrance road had sewage flowing. There is no lift, even for the second floor with luggage. Further we found that the caretaker had invited a couple of his friends and they were having a noisy gala time. My wife and myself took the room because we had excess time, with the departure of our train being at 23.55, but looking at the circumstances we vacated the room at 8pm. We are now sitting on the platform braving mosquitoes.

The room was too small to stay for 4 people as in the picture it was quite big.And parking was the main issue.The other facilities hot water,AC etc was all working well.

The Oyo hotel is ok for ac, room only. In the name of breakfast they will give you 2 idli and 2 vada from a nearby local thela. So if you like south indian food then only option for breakfast otherwise staying is ok.

Don't go this hotel by believing Oyo staff speech. It's not at all safe for any tourist especially for ladies. I asked to the Oyo person whether it's safe for family and they said YES.. But when we went, only drunken people are available there. It's very frustrating moment. Please avoid these type of hotels by their price. Not at all worth for anything!!!
