OYO Hotel Wild Orchid - Hotel in Gangtok - East District, India

The quality of the food is very poor as we had food poisoning for the rest of the trip. The restaurant couldn't handle the amount of people that came with us. Kept us waiting for 2.5hrs for the food. This place is not worth it.

Firstly, they sent us to an adjacent hotel by saying they don't have rooms available even though we had booked our rooms four months ago. Secondly, when they gave us rooms for the last night at Gangtok, the condition of their rooms were very low. The walls and desks were badly stained. The pillow covers, bedsheets and towels were stained as well. The sheets had holes in them. When we asked to change the covers, they simply said, "Every sheet of ours has these kind of stains." I wonder how shabby can a hotel be to answer in this way. The carpet was disgusting with more stains of god-knows-what and I felt like I would vomit if I walk barefoot. During the dinner, the plates weren't that clean and their food was heavily overpriced. Attaching one pic of one wall.

We had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The view from the hotel is pretty good overlooking the valley. The hotel also provides good food. The property is located in the city limits and hence,it is easy accessible to go to various places.

We booked the hotel from Kolkata via an agent and we had no idea of how the rooms and location will be as such. Let's start with the pros and cons . Pros- 1. The rooms were big and spacey. 2. They were clean, well furnished with floor to floor carpet 3. 24*7 good water supply and also with water heater ,( well it's a necessity to have warm water there in that cold) 4.Led TV with subscription to all channels 5.A reasonably rated menu with delicious meals ( the prices of meals all over Gangtok is a bit pricey as almost everything has to be imported from West Bengal) 6. Dedicated Staff with Room service Cons- 1. Pretty far (1.5 km )from the Main market- MG Marg and Lal market You gotta take a taxi or else it's about a 20 mins walk from there, The taxi charges about 10-15 rupees when on share, or 100 on reserve Well I didn't really like how I was far from the market and such but actually that hardly matters, as a taxi is readily found. We get a very clear view of kanchanjanga from the hotel rooms and also from the restaurant.The surrounding are quiet and neat.

Rooms are small and furniture are old. I liked d cleanliness and the well mannered staff. Food costly but the taste is good. The photo given is a view from our room.

Sir I have stay your hotel wild orchid referance thorw river mountain tourism.there after they will get bill29964.I have already pay 11964.in the packege they said that one day stay in lachung and two day stay in gangtok. But some weather problem they will tour in only local seightsen.ihave come in your hotel 13eveing and 15 morning December we will go. So you look this problem I have not satisfied in your hotel because 13all day no giser andno light .I have calculate all packege and night saty i get 15500 .room pay two room 4000.they will say that room in of season 1500.But I have pay 500 extra each room .in the sight sen 3000 .when we have come njp to gangtok 2000 pay in car rental.3000 rupees I have pay car rental gangtok to njp.this is the packege in gangtok to njp.please look the problem imideatly in short time.

Both wild orchid & white orchid r nice hotel to stay at development area of Gangtok 1to1.3 km away from M G Marg ! New & nice building ! Few rooms r kept by Allahabad ( Indian Exchange Place ) bank as holiday homes ! Those holiday homes if available a little bit less cost ! But only problem is the hotel authority or Management r not update the holiday homes TV card ! So the touists r not able to enjoy at leisure time !

Very worst ever experienced with management..... perticularlly "Lady Don" is there... She will demand more from us, she fixed rates for evey thing other than hotel hire cost...She was rude...
