OYO Goahati Guest House - Hotel in Guwahati - Kamrup Metro, India

Waited outside the gate on a dark street for half an hour at midnight and nobody opened it for me. When I finally got in, the room wasn't available due to the AC being broken. Eventually it turned out the AC did work, and I was able to enter the room. The room is of good quality, with perfectly clean beds far above the usual standard in India. The bathroom doesn't correspond to this price range, however. Water was leaking, and the heater doesn't function correctly meaning a cold shower. Wifi is fast and reliable enough for Netflix. They offer meals three times a day, of which breakfast is complementary. It was three slices of butter toast with jam and an omelette, above what is usually offered. This guesthouse is in a residential block and there is no sign to inform you of the location. Plan well in advance when you arrive and inform the host, or you may end up at a locked gate like me.

Worst experience ever! We've communicated upfront about the late checkin (we said "after 2am as the train is late", we did not mentioned the exact time since Indian train schedule can't be predicted). Our train was delayed even longer so we've arrived to the building at 5am. The OYO service representative on the phone said that the hotel tried to call us near 2 am and we were not available so they've automatically cancelled the booking (without charging us and without sending any email) and probably went home. It's unclear how we could be available as the cellular reception on the train is not stable. Furthermore, the service representative started to ask whether we are married or unmarried couple to align with hotel policies (at 5am when the room was not provided yet). At the end, they've agreed to give us a room but told that we need to pay more (1800 rupees in total instead of 1600), 1800 rupees for 5 hours stay (checkin time is 11am) and after 30 minutes of all the broken phone talks while the battery is draining out and we are eaten by moscitoes in the dark :) We've refused to pay more and found a good hotel for 1600 rupees few hours later. This is how OYO treat their new customers. I don't think I'll book with OYO again. PS: the last thing I want to see is management template reply that they "regret about the inconvenience caused". If they want to raise the hospitality bar to the industry standards - way more severe actions (as opposed to blabla words) should be taken. The communication about the whichever limitations related to the booking should be done in a clear form with a copy, sent to customer's email.

Room and hospitality is good...but one thing there is no banner...but as per room quality and price segment I will provide five star.

The OYO captain here is awesome. And so is the service here.The rooms are so much different than what one would expect them to be considering the outer look of the building.

Not a good place to stay in. A residential area is converted into guest house and there is no name board of guest house. On top of that the bathrooms were not clean as expected

I stayed there for a night. This oyo room is in a residential building soo kind a unsafe and they dont even have a professional staff
