OYO Flagship Great India Hotel - Hotel in Kharagpur - Medinipur West, India

Its mostly frequented as a bar than a family restaurant though there is seperate arrangement for both .The food and service was okay. It is past it's prime due to construction of the flyover which impacted it's visibility and accessibility.

Food was good in taste and freshly made. Price was reasonable.

The rooms were well below par. The AC temperature was fixed and the remote was non functional. The toilet was narrow and uncomfortable to use. The toilet didn't have any cloth racks or hooks for that matter. The towels and bedsheet were in poor shape. The restaurant food although good (only positive thing about this hotel) was quite expensive and shouldn't have commanded such price considering the ambience. The serving time for an order was prolonged and the restaurant was short of manpower. The kitchen area was unhygienic and not well maintained. The hotel also doesn't have a lift and for people with knee and joint issues this hotel is a strict no no. Overall experience of staying here didn't have a semblance of pleasantry. Take your own call about staying here.

A true kharagpuria must have heard the name "Great India" since ages. Since it was one of the first restaurants to be established in kharagpur, it was regarded as one of the posh restaurants in those days. Although competition had arose and "Great India" is neither taking any other novel marketing approach nor improving the quality of services/restaurant but the food being served is still delicious and one must definitely try it.

Beside NH6, quiet and no disturbance! Family, tourist, couple and also a large number of group suitable for all. It also provides lodging and fooding facilities for visitors (double bed ac 1500 and triple bed 2000). Food quality is very nice, veg and nonveg both are too good. Special u should try *paneer recipes! A small bar also available!

Eating food there is an amazing experience but this has always been a problem if we order food for parcel. The parcelled food is of very low quality and not at all nice.

Nice place to have late night dinners, staffs are well behaved, food is good. Covid 19 regulation are less strict here. Over all good place to grab some food. This place is good for family outings, also contains a small bar. The staffs are friendly and servings are quick. They offer a good choice of drinks also.

Foods and all dishes are very tasty and fresh.
