OYO Flagship 8816 Whispering Pines - Hotel in Shillong - East Khasi Hills, India

The rooms were really good !! The manager named Amanda is very very amicable perso .We stayed in 7 and it had all the facilities like clean and good rooms, clean bathroom, fridge, dining table, sofa, centre table, washing machine and balcony with ropes where we can hang our clothes.... Breakfast is complementary, but lunch and dinner is also available but we have to pay for that of course. Overall location is good as it is located in Kench's Trace and near the hotel there is a very small shop which seems small but actually most the things are available like water bottles, soap and etc.

Very nice place to stay in Shillong.. You have the old residence of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Thakur just opposite to the hotel.. Now it belongs to someone else.. During your stay at Shillong be careful of occasional miscreants.. If there is any bandh or strike please do remain indoors..

Facilities are good. Manda and her staff managed all perfectly although they had some limitations. Looking forward for our next stayy here Khublei !!

One of the most coziest places you'll find in Shillong. Initially we were told that the payment includes a complimentary breakfast everyday, but then out of the 4 days that we were here, we got the breakfast only on one day due to some chef problem. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable, with geysers in every room. A very peaceful stay with good hospitality, parking good enough for one car or a tempo.

Home away from home you can call this place. We checked in late at around 8PM, still the person at reception welcomed us very warmly. They have beautiful, clean ,spacious rooms. They helped us for our dinner even though it was there closing time for ordering dinner. The food they served was tasty and healthy. Location wise its around 2-3 kms away from main town but thats the charm of it if you like a quite place. Also after we checked in the manager herself came and asked for feedback, so all in all it was a pleasent stay. Keep it up!!

First of all the location is not good as it is far from the main market. Secondly, the room were not clean and hygienic. Very poor service.

Behaviour of Staff is extremely polite and very helpful especially Mr. Collin Lyndon. View of hills from the room is fantastic. Rooms and toilets are also well maintained. Rooms are very spacious. The cons I felt are that the place is not well connected to the city centre and food needs to be ordered almost half a day before! And only breakfast and dinner is served.

Great place! Doesnt make you feel you are in a hotel. It feels like home. Visited in 2011 in june. Staff are cooperative and food is awesome! But the only drawback is that the rates are quite high. If you want good hospitality then go for it. If you are concerned about the budget then its better to skip it.
