Oussudu Lake - Tourist attraction in Oussudu - Villupuram, India

Just 10kms away from Puducherry, you will find this beautiful and peaceful bird sanctuary in the Oussudu lake. There are almost 40 different species of birds and the place is very scenic. Mostly not crowded. Boating is also available. It was an amazing experience.

Boating is closed here. It's a very peaceful and beautiful place with lots of birds but not maintained at all. Currently there is no point in going this far unless you have lot of time to kill. Would have loved it if boating was available

It was a quite couple spot... best place them, but for others it won't be so nice. There is boating over there u can go about and enjoy it... It will be really fun and joyful.. it cheap and best place to have some good time.

One of the peaceful places in Pondicherry to spend your valuable time. A great escape from traffic and noises.

Ossudu lake situated in the outskirt of the pondicherry , around 30 minutes drive from pondicherry town.Very beautiful and clean lake with full of water. Boating also available here in ossudu lake . Birds watching is the main attraction. No entrance fee to enter , but yea boating is chargeable.Not much crowded place

Ousteri Lake, also known as Osudu Lake, is located near Osudu Village on Pondicherry-Villuppuram Road, 10 kilometres away from Pondicherry Bus Station. The lake, which spans 390 hectares, is located halfway between Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry. The government designated the Lake as a wildlife sanctuary. More than 40 migrating birds are present here. Numerous other species include the golden oriole, painted stork, white ibis, open-billed stork, tailor bird, and spotted owlets. We only managed to see peilcan. The hours are 9 AM to 5 PM. Boating can be done with motorboats.

This a good place to relax and chill out with the family . The location and vibes are a bit good not so great . There is boating facilities but it's expensive 100/- for 30 min ride . But i suggest to be careful because safety measures are bad , no life jackets so be wise and take the right decision . I did not come across any washrooms so be prepared and relive your self well in advance . No shops on location . There is a small vendor outside the premises they sell some small items , but they also do cheat you . Since I'm from Mumbai and I don't understand the local language it was a rip off for me . Language difference looted me , but since I was on vacation inlet it slide .
