Our Dabhoi Nandodi Bhagol Gate - Tourist attraction in Dabhoi - Vadodara, India

Not much different in appearance from Vadodari gate. It's actually double gate with heavy restoration. Carved brackets are speciality of Solanki era forts

Visited Oct 2021. This one of four Bhagols (Gates) at Dabhoi. Restored by the ASI. Looks as good as something restored by the ASI does. Its possible to walk up to the top of the two gates here. Many of the pics here at Google Maps are not of Nandodi Gate. See attached pics.

From Hira Gate,our next stop is Nandodi gate.ie 3 rd gate. Each gate is worth visiting and has it's own unique features. Each surpasses the other in some way. So visiting each Gate is a must. Though simple externally there appears two peculiarities. One the big statues inside and spread out area with a well inside. Google shows correct location and a visit on Sunday is better as you can drive your vehicle through the streets. The ASI caretaker here is helpful and if you request,gives you a brief history and shows you around happily. The photos have more to share. Enjoy.

Good, part of fort gates complex.

Difference from vadodari gate is it's almost same but the layers are much wider and still preserved and it's the water exit of the entire town when it rains. Accessing the gate from vadodari gate needs local help as lanes are too narrow but still wider compared to the gate to hira bagol. Only true architecture/history lover will appreciate its beauty.

True great Indian architecture ...

This is the southern gate of the old city. A worth watch to imagine the majestic past. Not a place optimised for tourists but you should check it out if you are visiting Dabhoi.
