Orchid Lake resort - Guest house in Shillong - East Khasi Hills, India

I visited the place 8 years back..now visited again in 2022.the condition of the property has deteriorated pros-the place is nicely located in the heart of Shillong. Cons- 1. The lady manager is rude and oversmart. 2. Food is below average. 3. Beds are very small for 2 persons 4. Expensive Pro tip- Stay in the nearby guest house named Woodland Hill stay..Much better in terms of rooms, food and price.highly recommended.

Beautiful property in a posh location. It's a old colonial style house refurbished and the rooms are quite spacious. The food is very tasty, and freshly prepared, even though the menu is limited. Room rates and food prices are reasonable. It's an old property maintained by few staff, so don't expect a very quick service.

Superb place , near to police bazar but isolated on a hill top. Nice room and excellent hospitality. They don't have proper restaurant but prepare according to our order ( we need to inform in evening). Highly recommended

Stayed for 2 nights in La-chaumiere and the experience was good. Room services are very good and the food is very good. Rooms are very well clean. The campus is very beautiful to click photos and it is well maintained. Located only 1.5 kms away from police bazaar, Shillong and very accessible to other places of Shillong.

Very spacious and typical Shillong guest house and manged by a single family and few super staff. They are very supportive and professional maintained. They have plenty of rooms inside the campus, they do provide food Facilties in pre order basis and staff is available any requirement. Mostly delegates from near by states always prefer this Guest house due to it's hygiene and at same time for relaxed stay.

Took 2 rooms for our stay of 3 days. Nice place. Room No 6 had a good view of Shillong peak and priced at Rs 3500+gst, below the main bunglow. Room 2 in the main bunglow was priced Rs. 4500+gst. Good stay.

The place is hard to find. However once found, the place is lovely. The rooms are of timber and wood and the views are good. The rooms and washrooms are clean and spacious. However customer service isn't great. Breakfast and dinner are served but no lunch and given that the place is not near anything, arranging lunch is an effort. We had breakfast and dinner on three occasions but there was no variety and the same dishes were repeated on all the occasions. There was no WiFi. Place is good if all one wants is silence and quietness. Otherwise quite inconvenient as there is only attendant to help out with things.

The property was really beautiful with good parking provision but the lady manager was of rude behaviour. Food was Ok not that good.Other than the lady the other staffs were good and polite.
