Was pleasantly surprised by how great the quality of food was, South Indian dishes did not disappoint. The thali is a classic. There's a souvenir shop where you'll get unique pieces at an affordable rate. Staff is very friendly and cooperative, definitely should check this place out while on the road for sohra!!
An exceptional culinary experience is offered by Orange Roots, a pure vegetarian restaurant in Magalaya, which raises the standards for vegetarian dining. The welcoming staff welcomed me enthusiastically as soon as I entered, which improved the atmosphere. A wide variety of flavorful dishes professionally made using top-notch, fresh ingredients may be found on the menu. Each dish was a delicious mix of flavors that left a long-lasting taste in my mouth. It is admirable that the restaurant caters to both vegetarians and vegans while maintaining completely vegetarian. For separating food fans, Orange Roots is a must-visit because of its welcoming ambiance and mouthwatering offers. ** Just remarkable is the view from the balcony.
One of the Best restaurant in Sohra and Cheerapunji region. A great service by ladies in traditional khasi dresses. Maintained well, clean, and hygienic. Easy to assess, ample parking space available.
Decent Dosa. The chutney and sambhar were more like South Indian style. That was good. But there is no milk tea or coffee here. They only have machine based tea and coffee. Good parking is ample.
The food options are absolutely perfect The atmosphere and service are also great. The menu will be outside. See and pay at the counter. Take a seat. And they will come and take the counterpart from you. The food is unlimited except Papad, sweet items. They will ask you if any thing needed, that's a very good sign of hospitality. The handwash area and toilets are also clean. At last, you can see there is a bell when you come out from the dining area. If you like the food service here, definitely ring it. The service staff will be very happy. The most recommended restaurant who will visit the Cherapunji.
The place is on the main state highway just before Sohra / Cherrapunjee while travelling from Shillong. Billing of items to be done at the entry itself. Gated dining hall, bill is checked and once table is vacant, you are let into the hall. Extreme busy during lunch hours, yet super clean and organised. We ordered special thali each. Everything on the plate was super tasty. Highly recommend their rajmah, dahi alu and paneer. Unlimited refills of sabzi, roti and rice except paneer, rasgulla and papad. So, if you are en route Cherrapunjee / root bridges / Nongriat etc, this place is a must visit.
Good place for vegetarian thali. The place at times can be crowded during afternoon but the food is simple with homely taste. Must try place for lunch while in Sohra.
Located enroute Sohra from Shillong on the Highway. Its a pure vegetarian restaurant offering south Indian , North Indian cuisine There's a token counter at the entrance and amount has to be paid in advance for entry to the seating area.
