Open Road Hostel and Cafe - Backpacker Hostel in Jaisalmer - Jaisalmer, India

I just had to share our wonderful experience at the Open Road Hostel and Cafe in Jaisalmer. My husband and I had the most amazing time. Right from the start, the hosts made us feel like family. When we travel, safety is always a big deal for us, and this place nailed it. We felt so comfortable and secure. The cafe was a dreamy spot for us. Cozy and with a view that left us speechless. Spending time there, sipping coffee and soaking in the view, was simply perfect. Speaking of perfection, the value for money here is top-notch. We got so much more than we expected, from clean and comfy rooms to the personal attention from the hosts. For couples like us, this place is a total win. It's romantic, safe, and easy on the wallet. We're already planning our next trip back.

The hosts here are fantastic. Super hospitable and made some of the best food I have had in India. We asked for a special South Indian meal and they went to great effort to create an incredibly memorable meal with them. The staff are so helpful and nothing was ever too difficult. I couldn't rate this highly enough. Stay here - you won't regret it

Booked for just 1 night as I wanted to try some other hostels too but ended up staying 3 more nights. The chill vibe, friendly ambiance & social culture was the best part. Late night bonfire & parties are fun. Rooms very clean & quiet good, but the activity area here is a soul of this place, on top of that the Fine Dinning is cherry on the cake. Had amazing time here. Strange experience here in that I arrived at past 9pm only to wait almost 90mins to be allowed into the room (after a long journey and the need for an early get up) because they'd decided to allow someone to check out at 11pm, so they then tried putting me in a dorm I hadn't booked. The hostel then had what I can only describe as the loudest drumming festival I've heard kick off at 11:30pm and last until about 1am - in of itself this isn't annoying but I would like to have been told about it... other negatives were the hostel isn't clean, bedding had stains, bathrooms are grim and when I got up the next day people were sleeping everywhere (in all common areas). Bit weird IMO. Anyway on plus side the hostel building is amazing, staff friendly, food excellent.

Such a beautiful place. It is a hostel with the feel of a home stay in the best possible way. Vivian and Apurna are such lovely people and awesome hosts. The food is amazing, there is such a nice social feel and atmosphere, the rooms are ideal and the views on the terrace for sunset are perfect. 100% recommend.

This place has great vibes. I spent Diwali here and do not regret it. The hostel invited musicians to play traditional music, and we lit clapped along, lit oil lanterns, and danced on the rooftop. They have a pool table, chess set, and painting supplies for anyone who wants to decorate the walls.

I have been traveling as a foreign tourist, all over India and I have to say that this was by far the best accommodation I have had. A budget hostel, with a great rooftop cafe- restaurant, combined with two very helpful, hospitable and friendly hosts made the experience unforgettable. There I didn't have just a place to sleep, but a place to socialize, relax, have something to eat and much more. Thanks for everything! ( Also the dessert safari trip, offered by the hostel was very cool :-) )

I had a wonderful stay at open road this last week. The hosts were very welcoming and accommodate all your requests. The property is located right next to the fort and gives you a beautiful view of the city. The staff at the hostel were very friendly and helpful. They even arranged a desert safari for me where I got to spend the night in the desert. I will definitely be visiting again.
