Ootacamund Club - Club in Ooty - The Nilgiris, India

I will start with the positives first as overall it was a very pretty and eye pleasing place . 1st - the place is ideal if u are staying with ur family as it has cottages with multiple rooms. The one we stayed in had one master bedroom one kids rooms with two single beds , one common area with fireplace one common bathroom and one more toilet with the dressing area . 2nd - it had vintage cottage vibes but it was really well kept and everything was neat and tidy . 3rd - the whole premise of the property is very well kept and maintained . 4th - food was also good but we only took breakfast there. 5th - the staff was courteous and were very keen on giving the guests their privacy throughout the stay . Now there were some things which slightly bothered us there like 1. The place was very quite and if u r going with small kids it's not n ideal place . 2. It's a club so it had some rules like - kids were not allowed to sit in common dining room , there was separate dining room for kids. We ended up sitting in kids dining room as we were not comfortable with leaving her alone . 3. U have to b properly dressed while entering the bar , dining area or the main building of the club. My sis was asked to leave the kids dining area as she was wearing distressed denim jeans which they asked politely but still we founded it rude. The dress code for the bar and dining room was formal dress for man and women which we saw a lot of foreigners nicely following and enjoying their time there . 4. If u are loud people u will have to really control ur voice there as it's not considered proper there . At last I would say that we took it as an experience of its own kind and enjoyed our short 2 days stay there .

We were 3 families in total , and stayed there for 3 nights and 4 days , it was an amazing experience ! The property is beautiful with an amazing variety of flowers and trees. The service is really good as well. Our favourite part was the breakfast , other than that the other meals might be a bit monotonous but the taste and quality is amazing and home-like. It was a wonderful experience overall.

Excellent club ,we enjoyed our three days stay here. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner food was good. Pure vegetarians may find it little difficult. Very good hospitality.

One of the best maintained clubs in the country with a lot of rich history from the British era. We had our Sunday sit down 3 course lunch here recently and spent some time listening to lovely music on their classic piano.

Good place. I was a guest here. I found many old photos hanging on the wall. I also saw lot of old crockery. Wild animals trophies. It is well maintained. Wooden flooring, good fire places friendly people. Good rooms still you can get the feeling of past days.

Heritage colonial-era club. Exclusive membership. Good food. Nice ambience.

Old world club, great experience, very British and very courteous staff. Great gardens to top it all...

We were inherited from this wonderful place.. Whenever I enter our Ootacamund Club, I feel like entering home.. We were so gifted and lucky guys.. Our ancestors have enjoyed this place more than us.. Still I feel like England.. We have got more British influence from this memorable heritage site.. We are so proud to have had this opportunity by the grace of almighty God.. Snooker game was invented from this great place..
