Omkareshwar Temple Parking Area - Featured Reviews (392)
We just happened to visit this temple on the previous day of Amavasya!! It was the month of Sawan.
The rush was so overwhelming. Our tour guide stated that it was very difficult to surpass the crowd and get into the temple for darshan.
We are so grateful to the pandit for having arranged a good darshan for us !
Omkareshwar Temple is a prominent Hindu temple located in the town of Omkareshwar in Madhya Pradesh, India. Situated on the banks of the holy Narmada River, this temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and holds immense religious significance for devotees.
The Omkareshwar Temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, which are considered to be the most sacred abodes of Lord Shiva. The temple is believed to have been built in the 11th century by the Paramaras of Malwa. It is known for its unique architectural style and intricate carvings that depict various mythological stories and religious motifs.
The temple complex is situated on an island called Mandhata, which is shaped like the Hindu symbol "Om." This unique geographical formation adds to the spiritual aura of the temple. Devotees believe that a visit to this temple and taking a dip in the holy Narmada River can cleanse their sins and bring them closer to salvation.
The Omkareshwar Temple is a blend of Nagara and Dravidian architectural styles. It has a towering shikhara (spire) that rises over the sanctum sanctorum, and the inner sanctum houses the lingam, which is worshipped as Omkareshwar. The temple also has several smaller shrines dedicated to various deities, including Lord Ganesha, Goddess Parvati, and Lord Vishnu.
The temple attracts a large number of devotees and tourists throughout the year, especially during festivals like Mahashivaratri and Kartik Purnima. These occasions witness grand celebrations and processions, with devotees offering prayers and performing rituals with utmost devotion.
Apart from its religious significance, Omkareshwar is also known for its scenic beauty. The town is surrounded by lush green hills and offers breathtaking views of the Narmada River. Pilgrims often take a boat ride around the island to soak in the peaceful and serene atmosphere.
Beautiful Jyotirlinga temple on the bank of Narmada
Ample parking space is available. Omkareshwar temple is walking from here. Wheelchairs are available at the entry of parking space. Parking is not well organised but vehicles can be parked easily. Sometimes need to ask other vehicles to make a way to remove the vehicle.
This parking space is nothing but a chaos on weekends, holidays, festivals and Mondays! Best thing is to park wherever you get space!! The area closer to the temple gets jammed up and would be very difficult to get your vehicle out as well!
Parking for car and bike available... Nice place

This place is around 7 kms from Omkareshwar. Nicely built rooms, Super spacious and clean. This hotel has an in-house restaurant which is more famous than rooms. Plenty of food items available and the food is good in taste. I would advice this place

Its high and beautiful near omkareshwar temple in khandwa district. We travelled there by bus from ujjain. There are lot of busses from ujjain but make sure that the bus drops you at omkareshwar. You can find a bus from ujjain in morning direct to om
This is the place where you get food for rupees 30 per person. You get unlimited refill of food by just paying rupees 30.
To talk about the food, it was very nice but bit spicy. Mostly in Madhya Pradesh, you will find food with a little extra spice.
The balcony view is truly amazing and so peaceful. I spent hours there on my first evening. However, on the second day a family of monkeys decided to play there!!
This is a significant drawback of this place.
The authorities need to enclose the balco
The location is very close to the Jyotirling. The hotel staff is also very courteous. They help you with all car and auto bookings. The only problem you face during peak hours is that the road to the temple gets closed to control the crowd so better
