It's a very easy trekking and feels like walking inside estate area and best time to visit here is between Oct to Dec since you can find lush green grass and forest views and amazing weather supports good hiking also. Please inform forest department before entering into this forest range. Carry sufficient water since there is less water source during the trekking.

The truth is that you escape significant moments by deluding yourself into believing that there is a right time for everything. That the right moment isn't here but will come soon. Because you are scared. God, I wonder how many times you've missed opportunities, stopped yourself from going on an adventure, said no to getting off your lazy couch. All the things in the world are the same, and Time isn't going to treat you differently. I know this because I spent ample amount of years in a cubical. I've waited enough telling myself, No! this isn't the right time... Let me do it next time.. I always waited for a perfect moment. Turns out, that moment never came. And just like that, I was always missing it. This isn't how it's supposed to be. You don't know the right time, You never know it. But what you do know is that this is your moment. And you must be living in it... Not skipping one at a time. I'll end this with only one question to you "What if You had...?"

It's very different but very adventurous trek place. There's not proper tail to follow, you have to make your own path from route map, compass and gps. First half path is cool but second half is very challenging. We started for trek at 6:30am from Gundya check post. When entered into the forest we were so excited and enjoyed the first half way with fun. And then, when we crossed a river, there was no path at all! We started finding our own way by using our route map(which we download from some blog), compass and gps in mobile. From then, the forest become more densed and we started walking very carefully. It was pin drop silence. On the way we found footprints of elephants and they were clearly telling that the elephants had crossed just before us! That made us to quite afraid of elephants. As going on, the forest became so densed that it was very difficult to step forward in the forest even though we were moving in right direction. So we decided to climb the nearest hill to reach the actual peak from the climbed one. We started and climbed the hill well until we came out of the forest. From then onwards the hill was about 80deg inclination to ground, and the whole hill was covered by long and thick grass. That helped us a lot in climbing the hill. While looking at the peak, it looks nearer to us, but while climbing we understand actual distance. After climbing 1/4th of the hill, one learge filled water bottle fell down from my bag and rolled down. That was only source of water for us! We all 4 became so thirsty and struggled to climb that too in hot sunny. We were taking rest for every 10-15 steps. Finally we reached the peak of the hill at 3:30pm. The peak was full of grass which was taller than us! We decided to camp there only as we were so tired and thirsty. In the night, it was so silence that we were able hear crackers' sound (since it was Diwali!) from village which was about 15 km away! We spent entire dark night with dry throat at the peak. We woke up in the morning and continued our journey towards exit point of the trek, which is Hoskere village, 10 km away. After crossing 2 hills we found muddy jeep track. By that time we were so hungry, so had rotti, chutney and snacks which we had carried with us. After finishing 3/4th of the jeep track, lucky we found source of water! We just rushed and grabbed it. Each one drank on average one and half litter of water non stop. That fulfilled our thirst of one day. Then we moved on and reached Hoskere at 1:30pm,from there we got bus to Mudigere and then to Bengaluru. We really had great experience in this trek!! This trek is good for those who love adventurous and thrill. If you're planning to go to this, before starting, BE PREPARED WELL.

Full of leaches , beware of getting lost if you go without guide.

This is the best and toughest in the western ghats for any trekker, once you are mid way to Hill , you feel like you are in heaven and you can see green bed everywhere. Descend is more tougher than ascend, don't even try this terrain without local guide and make sure he knows in and out of area. If you lost in jungle , believe me it's nearly impossible to come out. It's not only difficult terrain, there are plenty of elephants.

One of the toughest trek in south India. Better to go with the guide. And it needs more than a day to complete. Better be prepared with the tents and stuff to stay there and enough food and water. No need to worry much for the water if you are okay to have stream water. You will ha e to cross the rever and hence be prepared for it as well. Very easy to miss the route and hence stick on to the group to be safe. You might need permission to do this trek.
