Olam Naadan Food Joint - Restaurant in Payyanur - Kannur, India

A cool spot to grub down with your buddies and enjoy some awesome food. Picture this - you're chowing down on some delicious eats while soaking in the sweet view by the river. They've got this lunch menu thing going on, and the star of the show is the Kanji, a mouthwatering rice soup that hits the spot. But wait, there's more! The side dishes are no slouch either; we're talking about killer flavors like the bomb Fried "Chempalli" and the downright tasty Rabbit Roast. And here's the kicker - they serve your grub with mud cutlery. Yep, you heard it right. It's a bit out there, but it adds this funky twist to the whole dining experience. Time flies when you're having a blast, and this place is totally worth it. Feel the breeze, take in the river vibes - it's a chill atmosphere that makes every second you spend there totally worth your while.

We went there during lunch time. We choose the place after viewing social media reels and amazing ambience. But it was very disspointing. They only serving kanji. Waiter who came for order taking he doesn't know what's the menu, what available in kitchen. Before they have banana leaf meals . I asked about that he he don't know about it.

Amazing location for having food with your loved ones. You can have tasty food and enjoy the beauty of the riverside. We had lunch from there. They have only kanji( rice soup) available there for lunch. Also a few side dishes which tasted really awesome. Fried fish and beef roast are also available. The interesting thing is that they serve food in mud cutleries which was a different experience. The time you spend there would be really worth it. You can enjoy the wind and the beauty of the river from there. Girls please tie your hair otherwise you won't be able to have your food peacefully

Nice place with good food and a friendly feel, right by the river. Not a lot of dishes to choose from, but the prices are good

They serve tasty food , but the option is limited ..at non they'd serve only kanji and some side dishes whch are really tasty n authentic ...for dinner time they got much more options such as Kappa ...chicken ..appam ..n so on ..do try this place if you're a naadan food lover ..The price is so reasonable too

It is situated near to tha kavvyi river backwater , and very nice place with greenery all around . Can just go and relax ,beautiful space with beautiful ambience . They serve in earthen plates mostly . Food is very good over here- only thing if they can add on some of the other dishes apart from rice water thali , fish tawa fry and flavoured soda then definately the restaurant will flourish like anything . Must try ,fish tawa fry ,it's very delicious - we land up ordering 4 back to back . Must visit , they have good parking space for vehicles without any hustle. If you can work on the menu and get us more variety ,then definately 5 star . Good space for photoshoot ,it has shacks and benches to enjoy nature

I went to this place on the 3rd day after their opening. Below are my experience at OLAM: 1. The best food I had till date. 2. Awesome ambience (we get the same vibe in Cochin, but not anywhere near Payyannur). 3. Peaceful atmosphere. 4. If you love sea food and beef, this is the place. 5. The rates are very cheap compared to other restaurants. 6. Must try items are Crab Fry and Karimeen Pollichathu (doesn't mean you shouldn't try others). Overall 5/5 for their food, vibe and service.
