Okhla Bird Sanctuary - Bird watching area in Noida - Gautam Buddha Nagar, India

Visited Okhla Bird Sanctuary on 29 July 2023 with my kid. It was my first visit to this sanctuary, it is located in Noida, Gautam Buddh Nagar district, on the Delhi-Uttar Pradesh state border. Known as a haven for over 300 bird species, especially waterbirds, the Okhla Bird Sanctuary (OBS) covers roughly 4 square kilometres. To enter OBS, you have to pay a gate entry fee of Rs 30, and the entry point can be easily found on Google Maps. We chose the Noida gate entry, and luckily, the weather was pleasant with morning rain. However, due to the recent floods and the Yamuna river, we didn't get to see as many birds as expected. The sanctuary is well-designed with a straight road along the river, and there are plenty of seating benches, although they were often occupied by couples. If you visit with family, make sure to bring water and snacks as there are no food outlets inside. Also, it's important to be responsible and carry back any trash you generate, as some people have left litter in the sanctuary. Overall, it's a one-time visit destination. I would recommend checking out Surajpur wetland in Greater Noida for a more nature-centric experience, where you can observe numerous migrated birds.

Its a well poorly planned layout for a bird watching santuary. The only birds easily visible are the human love birds, and one has to walk about 5kms or so, in a comoletely straight line. Thry should have made some mini observatories within the area, closer to the marshes where the birds sit.

Must visit for nature's lover. Lot of birds, trees. 500 m long natural trail For bird lovers best time to visit is in October when winter migratory birds visit. It has 2 km long trail for birds. The place has cafeteria with fast food snacks and genuine prices. If you want to take lot of photos of birds you need to purchase ticket of 500. Else entry fee is 30

Very beautiful place in Noida. I visit here once in a year in winters in the month of December. Best time to visit in Nov, Dec and Jan. If you are a photographer or photographing lover, u must visit this place once. There is so many beautiful birds plays around in River. Early morning is the best time to visit. You will get entry at 7 o clock in morning even. So many people come in morning to do morning walk. There is a beautiful wooden bridge. In the last year 2019 government had made so much of improvement for visitors. There is entry charges and for camera there is extra charges.

When visiting, choose Gate No 2 which is next to DND flyover and is marked as sector 15. It is close to both observation towers (1km approx) and the marsh where you can see most birds. Visit early morning before 10 or evening after 3 to have good views of birds. No arrangement for food, snacks or water, so it is not a picnic spot. You can't carry snacks inside. It is just a place for observation of birds and photography. Kids can have fun running . Gate 1 is close to Kalindi Kunj (sector 95) and you won't be able to see many birds. It is approx 2 km walk from Gate 1 till Gate 2 and can be real challenge for kids and people with less fitness. There are few boats under construction at gate 1, but no one can tell for sure when would they be operational.

Nice place to go with family or friends. Best time of visiting here is in November or December because you can watch more birds. Carry your own water bottle.

If you are a birds lover or just an enthusiast, this is a good place to explore, spot and learn about birds of Delhi NCR region. Winters are a good time to go birding. On my maiden visit to Ohkla bird sanctuary, I was under the guidance of a bird expert and he helped me spot more than 60 birds. Delhi region has nearly 450 species of birds. Important Info - Gate no. 2 is the side from where I entered. 30 rupees for the entrance fees. 7a.m to 10-11 a.m. is a good time to invest there. Walk around. Go to the watch towers. Carry binoculars and camera if you have.

Though not a secret of Delhi but not many know about this small bird sanctuary on the banks of lazily flowing Yamuna. Winter heralds arrival of winged beauties here from as far and wide as Tibet, Mongolia and Siberia. Many species of birds arrive here and the sanctuary is a real delight for bird watchers. Plus point: not far away from the city, on Delhi-Noida border, this sanctuary offers ideal introduction to the birding activities.
