I recently had the pleasure of visiting Offside Cafe in Leh, and I can't say enough about this place. From the moment I walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere made me feel right at home. The staff here is not just friendly, but they go out of their way to make your visit special. The food was exceptional - I tried their local dishes and was blown away by the flavors. It's evident that they use fresh ingredients and cook with love. The menu has something for everyone, whether you're craving local cuisine or more familiar options.
The ancient Mata Kali temple is now better known as Spituk monastry. However, the monastery is preserving the Hindus religious faith with full regard. A place must to visit on the first day of arrival.
The walk to the top monastery is a unique experience. The views from this place are pretty just like mostly from everywhere in Ladakh. A Hindu temple and tibetan monastery Co located just like most of Ladakh again! Worth a visit, Don't miss it beauty.. Absolute peace and tranquility despite all the chaos unfolding around.
If you are visiting Leh by flight and opting for a local tour of Leh, this is probably the first place you will visit. This is where you will get the first experience of holy Buddhist worship place called monastery or gompa. This is where you will get first view of beautiful Leh valley on one side and Shey and Phey on the other side where there is greenery.
1. Buddhist Monastery and Kali Temple 2. Car goes up to the base and then there is a climb of close to 100 stairs. 3. Beautiful view of Leh city 4. Visit for small buddhist temple n leh view and dont expect much 5. keep close to 30 min for here including climb 6. Priest are quiet helpful and will explain the layout if asked
Beautiful and most important thing about this place is it's peaceful. Spituk Monastery, also better as Spituk Gompa or Pethup Gompa, is a Buddhist monastery in Leh district, Ladakh, northern India. 8 kilometres from Leh. The site of Spituk was blessed by the Arhat Nyimagung. It was founded by Od-de, the elder brother of Lha Lama Changchub Od when he came to Maryul in the 11th Century. Wikipedia
This monestry is situated just on the right point..from where you have a beautiful view of leh city along with Leh airport. Had an opportunity to witness landing and take off flights with breath taking views.. Best surprise is that along with monestry you do have a kali Mata temple situated on top of the hill...it so spiritual and peaceful once you reach on top. From there you too have a great view of indus River which is flowing back of the hill. Worth a visit..
Fantastic place, for me - the essence of Indian buddism. You can feel the breath of history on your neck here. PS. From this gompe there is a fantastic view on the airport, you can admire both military and civil planes. Majestic view!

Ideal place in the evening. Good quality and quantity is good. Serving takes time due to the crowd. Non veg food are amazing. Recommending Tibetan cuisine as a must must try here. Their coffee and bobba tea are also amazing. Do try all sort of momos
We had a memorable and thoroughly enjoyable travel experience in Ladakh, thanks to Himalayan Shepherd. A 7 nights stay itinerary was customised for our group of 4. Highlights: 1. The tour began with a hiccup, as flight delays resulted in us being
One of the best experience, thanks to Bhavesh and Rinchen Namgyal. Everything was synced to perfection. The itinerary, food, stay and the ride was exceptional but above all the people involved in organizing the whole trip was amazing. If you are plan
My one stop in Ladakh for accommodation in Leh, inner line permits for Nubra, Korzok (Tso Moriri) and Changthang (Pangong lake) and finally the agency I chose to rent my bike from and what a fine beast the Classic 350 Royal Enfield turned out to be.
Amazing viewpoint, peaceful not much of a crowd there are two routes to get there, if u prefer walking ill suggest take the stairs, its just 400m else u can walk the long way around which is less steeper and takes around 1.5kms. the view from the top
