The hotel is truly no-frills. You get a decent bed, a clean room, a hot shower and a quiet sleep. That's about it. But compared to the other shoddily run guesthouses in the area it's extremely well run. The owner (Yuvi) is super organized, trustworthy, helpful. He has experience working in senior roles at 5 star hotels and brings the same rigor and dedication to this humble property. Gave great advice about the local area as well. Highly recommended.

The rooms are very neat and clean. The location is great as the beach is at a walkable distance. Parking available. No food available in the premises. Expect just stay with no other services. It was a perfect stay for us.

I had an incredible stay at Oceanside hotel in Mahabalipuram! This simple, no-frills hotel surpassed my expectations with its clean and tidy rooms, ensuring a comfortable and relaxing stay. Our family had an excellent stay at Oceanside. 5 stars for hospitality, location, and facility. The treatment you get from staff is also quite exceptional.

Nous sommes arrives avec l intention de sejourner dans l hotel surf and tuf. Malheureusement cet hotel etait full et nous a conseille d aller voir a l oceanside. Des notre arrive, la personne a la reception (dsl j ai oublie votre prenom) nous a fait bonne impression. Apres avoir pris possession de la chambre, nous descendons dans l'optique d'aller visiter les temples. Le receptionniste nous a donner un livre detaille en francais (il a aussi l exemplaire en plusieurs langues) sur l histoire et ce qu il faut savoir des environs. Il nous a aussi conseille sur les restaurants ou aller dans le coin pour ne pas etre decu et pour bien manger. Revenons a la chambre, celle ci est conforme aux photos, elle est propre (chose pas si simple a trouver en inde ), idealement situe (a 2 doigts de la plage et des temples), et cela reste tout a fait abordable (nous avons paye 3 800 roupies pour 2 nuits soit environ 40 euros en tout. Le chekout se fait en fonction de votre heure d arrivee. Si vous arrivez a 10 h, le check out se ferra a 10 h le lendemain. Un supplement de 100 roupies sera demande par heure supplementaire. Fort heureusement vous pouvez laisser les sacs a la reception et vadrouiller dans la ville ou aller manger qq part (ce que nous avons fait) pour avoir un check out a 10 h. A notre depart, il a plu enormement. Nous avons pu attendre a la reception le temps que ca se calme (et regarder la redif du march Afrique du sud - new Zelande au cricket). Il nous a egalement dit combien nous devions payer pour le tuktuk qui nous emmenerait au bus station pour prendre la direction de pondichery (pour eviter de devoir payer une "taxe supplementaire touriste") Dommage qu il n y ai pas grand chose a faire dans le coin sinon nous serions reste plus longtemps . Rooms are neat and clean. Yuvanesh is really helpful. Backside road is 2 min walk from beach. But recommending not to go at night. Night time take the main road.

My experience with Oceanside was fantastic, I booked 3 rooms for my family for 4 days, what I like about is nice location direct access to beach from hotel, very clean rooms well maintained, spacious reserved parking, one more important thing to mention is Yuvanesh Naicker, the owner and the manager of the hotel , he is too good he keeps service before anything , he thinks like a friend refers you good places to visit with only motive of getting good experience for the people who stays with him, I felt the other junior staffs can be more courteous, room pricing is very fair would definitely visit next time. If you are visiting Mahabalipuram on a budget with a safe & good experience then you can blindly go with Oceanside!!
