Ocean Breeze Cottage and Cafe - Cottage in Gokarna - Uttara Kannada, India

Location was unmatchable in terms of road connectivity. We had to carry our own luggages in the sand for 10 mins to reach the cottage!! Coming to the room, it was not cleanly maintained, cats were strolling in the balcony, no proper ventilation, doesn't have a proper lighting system, no hot water in the monsoon time. Topping that, this is what I heard from the caretaker there.. THE COOK IS NOT THERE, SO RESTAURANT CLOSED AND ONLY OPENS IN THE WEEKENDS!! There are no sign of lights along the sand at night (which is the only way to go out to get anything be it rental bike, auto rick or to that matter food too). Room boys were not available for any help including carrying luggage in the sand..

This place is not next to the road. Rather you'll have to walk about a 100 meters on the loose sand to get to this place. If you're carrying heavy luggage, it would be difficult. I arrived mid-noon and it burnt my feet to get to the place on the hot sand. Parking is not available here... & parking is paid where it is available. I had to shell out Rs200 per day. The approach road is extremely narrow and one has to be careful driving through it - in & out of this place. The staff here are helpful though and will assist you. The view is great and the place is breezy. I feel the room could have been larger.. the only thing they could fit is a bed and a small table. There is no provision for hot water in the room. No kettle, etc. There is no AC so during the summers, you'll be cooking inside unless you open the doors and windows. The only AC available is inside a 2x4 bunk bed dormitory. They did not offer to clean the room daily and only did so on request... Although they weren't happy about it. Overall a decent experience for the price paid but not a great one. I feel they should invest more in improving the place, provide proper and free parking and the prices of food should be more reasonable. They were charging Goa rates for a sub-par experience.

The sand from the beach is even outside your cottage It comes with you till your bed and I hate that personally. The bedsheet was stained Their restaurant was closed and there was no lights outside the main area which was most creepy Apart from this the staff is good but there is only 1 person. This is not what I like personally the same coming up to my bed. Apart from this it's sea facing and has a good view

The resort is located very close to beach but the rooms are not beach facing, room was not cleaned properly and dustbin was full of garbage though it was replaced later. The room was with only very basic facilities, not even provided soap. The towels provided was very rough and low graded. They don't even have power backups, we have suffered a lot during night time. The charges I have paid for this room is not price worthy. We didn't got foods whole day as they said nobody came to work because of some local festival then why did they took booking for the day We searched for food here and there.

Very nice bar and restaurant on the beach. Sandy floor and thatched roof. Menu a bit basic.

Visited last Monday ,wonderful cottage and cafe. My best beach stay. Budget friendly. Nice ambience, excellent service. Food tastes good and Lil expensive. Staff Hulliappa and others are very kind and made our stay memorable. Would recommend this beach stay , don't have to check any other stays just visit this place,.......

Went there for dinner. Food was not that great. Fish were not properly fried. Veg options were not good either.
