O maago - Bengali restaurant in Guwahati - Kamrup Metro, India

If we talk about ambience it was really impressive how well decorated the restaurant was but if you talk about service it was quite average. May be it was because of durga puja. And we ordered biriyani it was so worthless that I don't even have words to describe. Biriyani was average but the chicken in it was so pale and tasteless. The aloo was burnt. The only good thing about the biriyani was the boiled egg. Now you decide how bad was the biriyani. But the quantity of the biriyani was quite good. But the quality was not that great. They need to improvise it more.

Visited on the day of Maha Astami 2023 was very crowed..Ordered Veg Thali with khatla kalia and for drink Aam Panna..I would Say all items was very tastey which was served in thali except dessert..but mostly i would appreciate the owner himself was taking the charge to handle the crowd in the synchronise manner...Will visit again for sure..

QUICK INFO- Mast Punjabi Dhaba is Combined With Omago Resturant....So you won't find any Restaurant titled as "Mast Punjabi Dhaba" (only online services are available in that name) As we went inside with the intention to have a Something Punjabi'sh!!!! We requested them and they accepted the Mast Punjabi dhaba order ( from the online menu). Humble and professional gestures they have . The interior of this place is really good and aesthetic. One can have a proper bengali cuisine here. We ordered basanti pulao,papad, coke, chicken kosha, golbarir mutton kosha and phirni. The combination of basanti pulao and golbarir mutton kosha is just heaven, the best. Since I've a sweet tooth for me the phirni was lacking some sugar. Anyways the experience was good. 500-600 per person.

Most recommended dish is the non veg thali.. each and every item of this thali was just outstanding except the chicken and mutton kosha. They used tandoori chicken pieces in the gravy which was totally dried up from inside. The mutton gravy tasted bitter because of excessive & burnt garam masala. Rest everything was good from their service to ambiance.

The food is good and the preparations are really nice. Service is overall good here. The ambience is really beautiful and photogenic. People should visit this place with their friends or families and get the taste of authentic Bengali cuisine.

Some stuff are great but that dwarf one is completely mad. Veg thali is 399 but that dwarf stuff denied for extra sabji and all. This is truly shameful and i promise i am not gonna visit this place again. Jst shi*

NO to FISH Items! Guys please don't order any of the fish items in this restaurant, we had ordered 'Elish Maach Bhapa' one of the items as suggested by them when asked for the Fresh Fish of the Day, the FISH had a STALE smell which spoilt the mood completely. When told to them they denied constantly without accepting the fact that the fish released foul smell. There was no gesture of apology as well. Nevertheless the Aloo bhaji and Mutton was average. But honestly the authentic taste is missing. They don't cater the fine Bengali cuisine anymore. Please take this seriously, and moreover it's a 'Mast Punjabi Dhaba' now not 'O Maa Go' or It is combined, my Bill no. 52509 has the same name. Regards
