Nrusinghanath Temple, nestled in the scenic Bargarh district of Odisha, India, stands as a testament to architectural brilliance in the Kalinga style. Dedicated to Lord Nrusinghanath, a manifestation of Lord Vishnu, the ancient temple atop Gandhamardan Hills captivates visitors with intricate carvings and sculptures, reflecting the region's rich cultural heritage. Pilgrims flock to seek blessings, particularly during festivals like Shivaratri, while the trek to the temple offers an adventurous journey through the picturesque hills. Adding to the allure is the temple complex's natural spring, Papaharini, believed to possess healing properties, where devotees take a holy dip. Amidst the spiritual ambiance, the surroundings also showcase breathtaking views, and nearby, a beautiful and amazing waterfall further enhances the natural beauty, making the pilgrimage not just a religious experience but also a communion with nature, culminating in a harmonious blend of cultural, spiritual, and natural splendor.
Nature beauty is a beauty that creation of God. And most important thing nature beauty eye touched & feel the peace inside the soul. Nrusinghanath Temple as like as a nature beauty place where waterfall , large area covered chiefly with trees and undergrowth , a naturally raised area of land, not as high or craggy as a mountain , different kinds of birds & a picnic spot in our odisha.. there are a lots of space for get together with families, friends & study tour also.. And most of all parking place is good enough..
Nrusinghanath is a famous visiting place of the district which belongs to the Borasambar Kingdom of the past now known as the Padampur Sub-division. It is 150 kms far from the district headquarters. The temple of Sri Sri Nrusinghanath is situated at the bottom of the Gandhamardan Mountain which is approximately 3234 feet high. Baijaldev, the 8th Chouhan King of Patna had built the temple. An inscription on one of the stone walls of the temple speaks of the history related to its construction. In the temple which is surrounded on all sides by incredible natural beauty, Lord Vishnu is worshipped as Marjara Keshari. The Govt. of Odisha has accorded it the status of a tourist spot to this place.
*** WARNING *** This is a completely different temple... It's not like the one that many have uploaded on Google maps... There is no waterfall... Nor does the temple look like the one uploaded by many!! This is a small temple and it's beautiful during first day of the Bengali New year... But this isn't like the one shown on Google maps by many!! Both of the places and the temples have the same name...!!! Both are Nrusinghanath Temple!!! The Nrusinghanath Temple show on the images with waterfall is 10 hours from here.... 1200km from here... At Sambalpur!!! (As said by the locals there and the members of the temple there) So, be sure before you take a trip here... And recheck the location...
The temple of Sri Sri Nrusinghanath is situated at the bottom of the Gandhamardan Mountain.Lord Nrusinghnath is the avatar of Lord Vishnu. It is located around 110 kilometres from Bargarh The temple was built by Baijal Dev of Patna state in the 15 century AD. Waterfall is settled close to the famed Nrusinghanath Temple , at the foothills of Gandhamardan Hill towards the north. Surrounded by dark forests and hilly terrain, the waterfall is a beautiful site for those who love natural settings and like spending time close to mother nature. Other exciting and sightseeing places are - Gomukh kund , Pandhav gupha , ashtabhuja ganesha, Pitrudhar, Guptadhar, Bhimadhar, Kapiladhara, etc. Natural landscape is just beautiful ; pleasant air , evergreen waterfall, cold water , greenish vegetation , dense forest. Best place for pilgrims and nature lovers. Very suitable place for tour and picnic with students , friends and family . When come this place also visit Harishankar , which is about 50 kilometres from here by road.
