It is one of the highest waterfall in India, it's 1,100 feet. Falls & surrounding scenery are very pretty. The crystal clear water, tinted emerald shade, formed a pool at the base, surrounded by lush of greenery. The thunderous sound of the waterfall echoed through the valley, leaving me humbled by its power. It was a surreal experience. I just mesmerized. At the parking area lots of shops are available. some of them food stalls & garments stalls. You can buy gift items also.
lovely view point and well maintained. the spot is still the same but some furnishing is going on to make it more versatile and genuine. been back here after a decade filled me with euphoria, much better roads and somehow network is available but the falls is as amazing as it is. but due to rain it was clouded and was not much visible so we had to wait up for the falls to show up and it was worth it.
Nohkalikai Falls is one of the tallest waterfalls in India, plunging dramatically from a height of around 340 meters (1,115 feet). The breathtaking view and the lush surrounding landscape make it a stunning natural attraction. If you get the chance to visit, it's a sight worth seeing.
Mighty, magnificent, breathtaking. It was monsoon when we visited and Nohkalikai waterfall was in full gush. Also, the place used to be open till 5PM when we visited and it was just before 5 when we went there. Got to see the amazing view of the falls and the sunset both. Undoubtedly one of the must visit places in Meghalaya!
The Nohkalikai Falls Viewpoint in Meghalaya, India, is an amazing display of the beauty of nature. From where I was standing, I could see the magnificent Nohkalikai Falls tumbling down from vast heights. I was in awe of the water's majesty as it crashed into the emerald pool below with such intensity. The magic was enhanced by the lushly greened surroundings. The falls were frequently overtook by clouds, giving the scene a dreamlike feel. A photographer's fantasy comes true as they get the ideal snap of this beautiful wonder. I had an unforgettable experience at Nohkalikai Falls Viewpoint where I was mesmerized by the exquisite creativity of nature.
Nohkalikai Falls is the tallest plunge waterfall in India. Its height is 340 metres (1,115 ft). The waterfall is located in the Indian state of Meghalaya, near Cherapunji (now known as Sohra), one of the wettest places on Earth. Nohkalikai Falls are fed by the rainwater collected on the summit of a comparatively small plateau and decrease in power during the dry season, from December to February. Below the falls is a plunge pool with water of an unusual shade of green.
This is just a view point of the Nohkalikai Falls, no way near the water flow. But alas, the sheer flow of waterfall is breathtaking and thrilling. Few eateries around and shops for local handicrafts and spices. Can spend 2 hours walking around and taking pictures of the falls at a distance. A sunset view is reasonable, but difficult for photography as quickly mist takes over.
Very beautiful waterfall. Most special thing about this fall is the landscape along the way to this waterfall. We visited this place in monsoon season and this was a massive beautiful waterfall with lush green landscape all around. Near the view point there is small market where you can purchase souvenirs and local specialty like lakadong turmeric powder, local black pepper, cinnamon etc. if you're visiting Meghalaya then this is not the place to be missed.
