The main canteen of IISER Kolkata is the NSCV/ICVS hall's canteen, food is cooked there and then supplied to nivedita hall canteen. So, there is always a limited amount of food (same menu as of main canteen) in this canteen. If you reach early during breakfast/lunch/snacks/dinner, all items are available, but in the eleventh hour, many items are not available. Then you may have to go to main canteen, which is not too far. Washbasin is available, veg and non veg foods are available as per the menu. There is 1 LED tv inside the canteen. Seating arrangement is of maximum of 60 people. Fire extinguisher available. Wheelchair accessible entrance is available.
Truly saying, this canteen is kinda useless. A single counter for serving food with mostly 1 person allotted for it. Therefore, a huge queue is created and a single food selecting machine makes the situation worse. Also, foods are carried here from the main canteen. So, if an item gets finished, you won't get here even if it's available in the main canteen. Tea & coffee machine being unavailable, lemon tea and coffees are unavailable but normal tea is. Also, ice creams are unavailable. But ya one thing is that sometimes some items get finished in the main canteen but you still get it here .
It is inside Nivedita Hostel so good on Nivedita hostelers. The downside is it doesn't offer lunch and snacks.

People having a valid identity card at Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Kolkata can buy food here electronically only. But only breakfast is available here. The cost of food is the same as other canteens at this institution. One gets veg in comparetively low cost. The cost for non veg is a bit higher. Food quality is good.
Food brought from NSCB main canteen is served here only for breakfast. Canteen opens late at roughly 8:30am. Hygiene and quality are maintained but this place feels a bit isolated as very less people come to eat here.
