Had a consultation recently at his clinic for an issue which I have been living with since my younger age. I get the infection in ear when water goes and it needs some medications. I have stayed in almost all major cities in India and have consulted doctors for the same reason in all the places. The cost of the medicine he prescribed was 5-6 times more than any one has suggested till now. Doctor, treating a patient is one thing, however making it affordable for him or at least not making it unnecessarily exorbitant for him, is what makes a trust worthy doctor.

One of my ear buds got lodged in my ear. So I went there for removing it While I have no issue with the service, I feel they charged me exorbitantly and I ended up paying as I was panicking. They charged 1200/- for consultation (which I didn't need, since I already knew the problem was the ear bud) and then charged additional 1500/- for removing it (the procedure took less than a minute).
Doctor Dipak Desai is expert in diagnosis and treatment. He is humble by nature and is very loyal to his profession. He is very ethical too. He explains everything about disease to his patients and if utmost needed, he suggests the surgery. He is soft spoken and accountable for sure. Thank you Doctor.
The consulting surgeon was polite and humble and he is a master of his subject, calms the stressed patient and maintains the sanitation standards! However, his receptionist needs to be more organised and therefore getting an appointment online is better as compared to waiting for her call to confirm it!

Dr Dipak Desai is a good ENT. Clinic is very clean. I definitely would recommend him. However there are a couple of drawbacks that if doctor can change that would have made me give him a 5*. I had recurring fungal infection in the ear which I know happens bcoz of swimming/shower (water getting into the ear) and have met other ENTs in the past. Drawback No.1 - After consulting him, he over-prescribed (about 5 medicines) when i only needed ear drops. The chemist opposite his clinic too insisted I buy all medicines as prescribed but i opted only for the ear drops . As advised, I met Dr Dipak after 4 days. I asked him if the infection was gone and he said yes (I had used only ear drops) Drawback No.2 - After 3-5 days he calls patients to Nirmala Hospital where we have to pay another Rs1500 and wait for a very long time for what he calls "ear microscopy". This is nothing but cleaning the ear with suction which other ENTs do in their clinics itself. Its done in the hospital OT and the bed or sheet on the bed is not even sterlised/changed after each patient. Drawback no.1 can be debateable but drawback no.2 is clearly avoidable. However I will reiterate - he is a good doctor and if needed, I would consult him again. - Rajesh Ramchand.
