Nostalgia hit me hard, I remember going to this place with my dad as a kid I remember how this place was, amazingly they have preserved the ethnicity and also the food is slightly different from the regular commercial restaurants

Feels over-priced for the quality and quantity. The meals were portioned right with rasam and buttermilk served in little bigger than a shot glass. Salt and spice levels and even the sweetness in the caramel custard was just right.

I had a disappointing experience at Ninan's Restaurant in the hotel. The food quality was subpar, and I found it to be overpriced. It's disheartening when you pay a premium for a meal and it doesn't meet your expectations. The flavors were lacking, and the presentation was underwhelming. Additionally, the prices on the menu were quite high, making it even more disappointing when the food didn't justify the cost. I had higher hopes for a restaurant in such a reputable hotel, but sadly, it fell short of my expectations. I hope they can improve the quality of their dishes and consider adjusting their pricing to better match the dining experience they offer. Until then, I'd advise potential diners to explore other dining options in the area for a more satisfying and reasonably priced meal.

Heritage site, historic outlet and warm experience. Food was more than average. But the calm, relaxed and nostalgic experience while munching on some classic dishes and desserts makes Ninans Restaurant worth visiting. The pictures on the walls and the eyes of the old person sitting on the counter will make you feel the sweet weight of history of this place. Must visit if you are looking for that Old Madras experience.

Homely food. Veg and non-veg options available. The place has been around for ages... Remember eating here some 35 years ago. Under 1000 for 3 persons with lots of food. Fish and chicken 65 we're good. Not oily. The meals was simple but tasty.

Went for lunch along with my father. The building seems to be built during the british period. The building has heritage looks and it still looks very strong. We ordered Chicken biryani, prawn masala, Fish fry, parotta and Custard. The chicken biryani is cooked with basmati rice, but it doesn't seemed to be prepared that well they could improve on it. The prawn masala was good, but the Fish fry was very thin and seemed to be not marinated that well, the coating was like bajji coating. Parotta looked good, but didn't taste great. The Custard was looking good and was prepared well, but the only issue was the essence dominated too much.

A unique experience, frozen half century ago. Pleasant staff, with personal involvement to customers, a very nice menu, long forgotten delicacies. The classic Kerala red rice along with veg and non veg items and sambar is a treat. One can also try Malabar parotha with chicken roast. Kethal chicken roast is an item very specific to a traditional restaurant in Trivandrum and brings back nostalgic memories for Trivandrumites who have settled in Chennai for decades. The restaurant is set in the historic YMCA building and the tall windows with very high ceiling lends a historic touch. One will enjoy a meal. It is right opposite High Court and adjacent to one of the exit ramps of High Court Metro Rail station.

A big for the service and atmosphere of the restaurant. Usually crowded for lunch during the weekdays. The rice with chicken curry was good and the caramel custard was excellent. The cost of sides for Parotta could be lowered.
