Nilona Dam is an earth fill dam ,,,situated oj Yavatmal - Ghatanji road,,,to be precise 14 kms from Yavatmal,,,Nilona dam is considered as a part of Irrigation project by the Govt of Maharashtra...The main purpose of the dam is supply of water to nearby areas,and for irrigation use..This is a small dam ,,but is adequate for a one day outing or picnic...
Excellent place. Situated at 6 to 7 km from yavatmal city. Nilona dam is approached from Akola bazar road. Whereas reservoir view can be best seen from the Godhani village. Vehicles can reach up to the spot. No amusement, no commercial shop, nor it is developed as tourist location.

Beautiful place with peaceful and calm nature. It is back side of nilona dam and near dindayal prabodini. Must carry drinking water and food as there are no shops near by.

It's a spot where small waterfall view is there nowadays crowd is increasing day by day in large number. Local are also taking interest in that so in few days it must be public picnic spot in rainy season specially. And also one thing I want to share that road at there are not too much good so it's not safe there .
Reservoir which is about 15 kms from yavatmal. Clear Road upto the spot. We can reach by both 2 wheeler and 4 wheeler as well. Worth visiting in rainy season when the dam is full of water, so that we can enjoy the spill of water from the reservoir. We can enjoy with family.
