Visited this restaurant after 13 years with the memories of porotta and chilli chicken. The old restaurant has changed a lot. Currently they have an Air conditioned upstair dining area. The quality of the chilli chicken did not change a bit.
Food and ambience is good.. A/c seating.. No meals here. Porotta chicken chappathi biryani items only..Porotta was not so soft it was hard to digest. Chicken perattu and fry was good.
Known for their amazing Chilli chicken, the best in town. Used to be amazing and then there was a time when it was all bones. Now they serve a Boneless version which is medium spicy. Found the chilli beef and chilli chicken for dinner to be quite spicy. The parotta was a bit hard, but chappati and idiappam was fine.
So, I have to share a poor experience eating at this place. We checked in Google and saw that it closes at 8pm, we called and asked, A lady responded saying it's open till 10:30pm. So we went to have food at around 9:30pm. Very reasonable. First when we entered the restaurant, first impression was bad. It was not clean or maintained. So we went upstairs. It was better there, but we were the only people there. We ordered the food and only the porotta and chilly chicken was available. It was not like the old times, just average to be honest. I felt it was was reheated chilly and chicken and porotta was also not that great. As we were finishing the food, the waiter handed us the bill. We were just talking and having food. In the background they had already started closing up. But a elderly looking guy, who was not the waiter just raised his voice at us very annoyed, rudely told us that "kazhichitt erangaar aayille? ivide elaarkum kidakanam" (translates to - aren't you guys done yet? some people have to sleep around here). I checked the time and it was only 10pm. They told us its there till 10:30pm. We were shocked, first the whole experience was a let down and on top of that having to deal with entitled old man was really frustrating. Confronted the man saying it's only 10pm. He couldn't care any less. Really wouldn't recommend anyone to go eat at this rude and unhygienic place.
Have been eating Chilli Beef and Chilli Chicken here for the last 30 years .... the unique taste with the Onion puree based gravy is yet to be beaten by anyone else !!! Stopped eating Beef sometine back as diet control ..so cannot comment on the present status of Beef Chilli ... but the recently introduced Boneless Chilli Chicken with Kerala porotta is a " not to miss " item when you are in Trivandrum !!! What a Legacy ... !!!
I am regular customer of Open House Statue (for thr Chilly Chicken), for a change I tried Boneless Chilly Chicken from Nikunjam and it did surprise me... Its really really really good. Not sure of any other dishes. And they now have a dinning area on 1st floor. Boneless Chilly Chicken cost just around INR200
Used to be the best chilly chicken in town. Towards the end the quality started going down. Went there again after the renovation and the taste is still not the same as it once used to be. Felt like it was all bones in the chicken and very less meat. Enough place to sit, good service and parking available along the road on both sides.
This is probably the oldest non vegetarian eatery in Trivandrum. It's glory days are past. Now located in a single room with seating not permitted due to Covid, one thing has remained unchanged- the super taste of the food. Their speciality has been chilly chicken, I ate this for the first time from Nikunjam. Now you get other standard fare as well. The price is reasonable. Don't worry about parking. The sides of entire six lane road is yours.

Lovely place and people. Learn the art of eating Maldivian food from the one and only Meenamma herself. The meals, the fish. Everything was just delicious.
Excellent food for affordable prize. I think the cheapest price in this place. food. No compromise in quantity and quality. Some times we have to wait for it. That's only one problem here.
Restaurant inside O by Tamara. Went for company lunch. Liked their varieties. There were different things to try. I haven't tried the usual dishes. Starters had chicken tikka and fish finger kind. Then there was beef with veggies and a fish dish whic
