Most recommended because of low price with heritage look accomodation. I spend here 1 night and book common room 400 rupees per person. They have clean washrooms and good for solo travelers, group and family. But it's on 3rd floor and no lift otherwise it's best old look ludge.
It's my first time staying in a lodge. The stairway to the place looked a bit scary especially at night. But the lodge itself is very safe, even for a solo female traveller. It's cheap and clean. The staff is also very helpful.
I would like to emphasize the very polite behavior of the owner. Room and bathroom were clean. Bed was comfortable. Very good location.
Great location, right in the center of city. Need some upgrades as for example some hangers in the showers, definitely need a shower head - cmoon people, this is a hostel for everyone, and every person is not used to washing their bodies in buckets used by otrher people. Definitely need a regular cleaning in showers AND in toilets. Rooms and bedsheets felt clean, saw that everyday someone was sweeping the floors of the hostel. Administration and ovner ir super great and helpful. Will help you even in the middle of the night and give you the best advices. Overall good stay. Definitely need some improvements.
We had stayed at vasantashram for 3 nights and it was a wonderful experience. We really didn't think it would be that much clean. The rooms, common area, also the toilets and bathroom, everything is very well maintained and cleaned everyday. The old hotel atmosphere with agarbathhi fragrance in the reception, room interiors with that old hanger style on the wall, upscaled furniture, the doors with the old style lock near the hinges, everything was very nostalgic. We really liked the stay and we definitely plan to stay there the next time too.
The oldest Dormitory service available in the heart of the city. The owner and the desk staff is also helpful and friendly. Very good who are searching for budget-friendly dormitory. Besides this , as I see lots of tourists were stayed here for a period of time as well. It's been Good experience in my first visiting to Mumbai.
I wouldn't recommend for women/girls, not a good experience. Female dormitory is next to common wash room, that smells alot. No actual privacy in the room, as it is a partition with other side converted into a single room seperated by wooden planks on the lower part and few wooden rods on the top part. Employees are nice though.
I stayed here for around a week. Its a fantastic place to spend a time. Hotel is 100 yrs old and the identity is still intact. Beautiful drawings and architect really give you a nostalgic experience. The staff is super amazing. Always smily and supportive. There is a lot of plenty space to work. Cold breeze passes like a peaceful journey in the room. Ambience is cool and gives a positive vibe. They have maintained the hygiene, hotel premise and toilet are always clean. 24/7 water and electricity. High speed wifi. All I can say is it is a beautiful package in a budget.
