New Shree Kunkumam Residency - Hotel in Chennai - Chennai, India

Had 4 days of stay recently for a visit to Chennai, near Mount Road. I contacted the owner through a phone number from Google Maps. He was very polite and communicative, even offered me a discount. Even though the room was OK, the bathroom wasn't that good. The bathroom door had no lock or handle and you'll get stuck inside if you shut the door tightly. One of the front desk guys was so lazy that, he always found laying down on the sofa at the entrance all the time. The elevator was shut down at the time of my visit and this guy was reluctant to help me bring the suitcases to the 2nd floor. Later he did it and demanded money saying that "it wasn't my job". He argued with the owner as well when I reached out to him. Such lazy, arrogant staff should not be working in this kind of hospitality business. The location is not good for families as the surrounding streets are very dirty with garbage. The public bus and metro reachable if you walk to Mount Road. You'll find a hard time in getting good restaurants nearby particularly at night.

Receptionist is very kind and solved my booking issues and he is very genuine but the think is One of the worst room i never ever stayed. Especially room no 202, fan oscillation not providing sufficient air. No tv connection, air conditioning they kept as show case it's not working. No ventilation whole day I spend without air continuous sweat. Rest room mirror I can't see my face and unclean. There is no RO water in that lodge he is simply providing bottle water with PS20. Ruined my stay..... More improvement needed....

I regretfully give the Oyo Hotel a 1-star rating. The overall experience was extremely disappointing. The room was unclean, with stained sheets and a foul odor. The customer service was unresponsive and unhelpful. It was an unpleasant stay that I would not recommend to anyone. Rooms are Very old without AC.

Only non AC rooms are given to whoever is booked online. Rooms are not clean and washroom is very bad. Lift is there but it will not work. TV is there but it will not work. Overall experience is bad. Really surprised how it became 2 star hotel.

I would rate 0. Worst stay I had here. I never stayed at such a dump in my entire life. I was supposed to get an AC room with TV and breakfast, I got neither and instead the bed was so uncomfortable and itchy, bed bugs for sure and room was full of mosquitoes and unclean bathroom and they charged me for the whole. And the Oyo representative was so rude while asking for the extra amount for two hour early check-in.

They refused our booking because we are not Indians, and asked us to pay double. Owner confirmed my booking on WhatsApp and then lied about the fact that the add said "Indians guests only"...... a customer was there witnessing what was happening and said that they just wanted more money DONT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE UNLESS YOU ARE INDIANS
