My recent visit to New Nagalakshmi Restaurant left me with a mixed impression. While there were aspects to appreciate, there were also notable shortcomings. Starting with the less positive aspects, the service at New Nagalakshmi was underwhelming. The availability of items listed on the menu was a significant issue, and it was disappointing to find that many options were unavailable. This limited the choices for a satisfying dining experience. However, I did find a silver lining in the form of the tomato rice. It was a pleasant surprise and lived up to expectations. The flavors were well-balanced, and the dish was prepared to satisfaction. This suggests that the restaurant has potential when it comes to certain menu items.

Went for variety rices and wasnt disappointed. Dosa was good. Tasty sambar and chutney too. Sambar vadai was big and tasty. Kalkandu rice was great.

One of the oldest tiffin centre in the locality. I tried tomato and tamrind rice. Too good and tasty. Pongal is entirely new flavour every one may not like. But the quality is good. The staffs in the parcel counter can be polite with customer. Otherwise I would give 5star

Very good tasty sourashtra vegetarian food,, but service is very poor and servers are not customer friendly,,,, have to tolerate for the tasty food,,, refurbished in 2018 with A/C hall and renamed as New Nagalakshmi,,,

Very poor service... When I asked crispy rava dosa - waiter straight away rejected... When I made complaint in cashier no reponse..... I have not taken my food here..... Not like old one

If you do not expect great ambience but good vegetarian food you can go to New Nagalakshmi annexe. They open around 2 pm in the afternoon and go up to 10pm. They are famous for sourashtra type variety rice and sambar Vada and other tiffin items like Dosa, Rava dosa etc., They are pricey and the quantity will also be less but they score in taste. They are located in Kamarajar salai.
