Digha has been one of the go to short trip destinations for people in West Bengal for a long time and still it lives up to that. I visited here twice once around 13 years ago in winter and once recently during mid August. During the day time the beach will be over populated and if you want somewhere quiet then surely Digha isn't the right place. The waves here aren't huge but the beach looks heavenly during sunrise and sunset. There are an ample amount of activities to do nowadays e.g. speedboat ride, a bit horse ride etc. The waves become bigger in the evening so coming here to see the waves at night around 11 could be another experience. There are lots of stalls and food joints of a variety of price ranges available near the beach. In the evening it would be quite relaxing to walk around these. A few things that could be worth buying here would be - shells, bags, mats and some wooden handicrafts. Talking about food, there are quite a few renowned ones such as - Baskin and Robins ice cream shop, Mitra cafe, Wai MoMo and many more. I won't really recommend trying the fried fish but go for it if you have confidence in your digestive health. The small restaurants offer good quality lunch, dinner and snacks options at a much cheaper rate. They maintain good quality as well. Overall decent experience and a must visit if you want a short 2-3 nights holiday near Kolkata.
