I've visited this railway station several times in my life. Still I visit at least twice a year. This is one of the Biggest railway station in North East India and a gateway to North East if you come by train.
New Bongaigaon Junction is a beautiful railway station. This station is clean. Drinking water is always available here.The restroom of this station is safe.
The station can be considered as the gateway junction to Assam. The mainline is divided from here and one line runs west along the north bank of the Brahmaputra via Rangiya, Harmuti, Rangapara, North Lakhimpur. Another line runs west along the south bank of the Brahmaputra after crossing Naranarayan Bridge near Joghighopa. The south line touches Goalpara Town, Chyagaon and connects with RNY-GHY mainline at Kamakhya Junction.
