New Alka Restaurant - South Indian restaurant in Vadodara - Vadodara, India

As I visited at very late hour, we were almost the only and the last customers, so I couldn't see any problem in terms of service and space. Decent fast and well mannered. We had dosas and they were pretty good. I might come back for dosa. About the ambience, I particularly loved it. It gave the vibes of old 90's / 2000's restaurants. It seemed as if the time paused there with all the 90's music in the background. As all the restaurants across the country have started to appear in a common theme, I liked this one which didn't go under a renovation of old cozy jammed interior.

It's open till 4pm then opens later, the service is very humble, our order came quick, only the food was insufficient for the prices, tea was bland but great quantity. Atmosphere can be reconstructed spaciously.

Struggled with space, not spacious at all. Was very hotch potch there. Taste was fine, but doesn't make us feel good when the place is not spacious. The service was very very poor. It's like you can order something and can go on a walk of 20 minutes and when you come back you still won't receive your order. If you order it now it will take 20 mins to reach to you. Didn't even serve water on time. Asked them 5 times to bring the water bottles. Ordered Paneer, mixed veg and Dal Tadka. Food quality and quantity was fine but the Dal Tadka was not at all good. Overall experience was not good at all.. I'll try to visit again if the services gets better.

Best food and so beautiful ambience.

I was eating regularly when ever was in Baroda but now the quality was worst and they are taking it very casual. I have ordered Chapati and they have served it which was made in afternoon they just hit in oven and serve. Found hair in Sabji and they said Ho Jata he... Corporation need to check kitchen wether they using hairnet and all or not. So please take care and look are they making with all Hygiene precautions or not.

Very bad experience. We ordered dosa and we found paneer and chana in sambhar. Quality and taste also not good.

Will give it four star due to its delayed service. Rest everything is fine. Loved taste .

New Alka Restaurant is very old restaurant. The ambience is ok sort. Toilet and wash area are not up to the standard. The food preparation is good and tasty. We had ordered for Mashroom Masala ( very tasty ) sabji , tandoori rotis ( very soft ) and sabudana khidi (ok ok). Good tasty food is trade mark of this restaurant since more then 25 years( since I know them ). I recommend this restaurant who love tasty food at moderate prices.
