Located in Block M, New Alipore, Kolkata, West Bengal 700053, NAM- New Alipore Market has yet not been able to garner the popularity of the Kolkattans. It is located near to the Suruchi Sangha Durga Puja Pandal. Though the local people visit here for their regular needs, footfall is very less. So you will find no rush or pushing or shoving.
I have been going to New Alipore market from end 1986. The market is now well laid out and is very spacious. The shop keepers are very honest and well mannered.
However, the variety of shops is less. The fish market had around 10 shops and it has now reduced to 3. The prices are higher than Behala market. Even the prices of vegetables are on the higher side. We do not go to Behala market because of parking problems. There you have around 40 fish shops and many vegetable shops too. Naturally there the choices are more.

Vegetables and Fruits are fresh but don't come for any bargain. The grocery stores are well stocked. Fish market caters to a small clientele but although variety is less, fresh and great quality. Very few stalls. Small time tailors and upholsters add a feather to the cap. Limited number of shops for Utensils and other household essentials with limited offerings.
This market situated in proper New Alipore Junction beside of Police Station, but the market price was quite expensive
Good Customer service. A nice place overall if build to its ability. The shops are providing exemplary service, good products be it's clothes, gifts etc. Easy return policy, No clashes or making it difficult for its customers. Only negative point is to less shops opened thus not possible to get everything under one roof. And not many eating options.
