History : New Ajmeri Hotel was started back in 1972 and since then they have been serving the mughlai dishes. Today, Md. Laiq is taking care of the shop and his nephews are the 4th generation of this shop. The menu is not too long. They sell only Mutton and Chicken dishes, like - Mutton Stew, Mutton Korma, Mutton Kaleji ( Liver ), Chicken Korma, Chicken Biryani, Mutton Biryani, rumali roti, [ Mutton Nihari, Taaftan, Kulcha, sheermal ( only in winters ) ]. They prepare their dishes in traditional style copper utensils. They are especially known for their Mutton Stew. Review : Since I visited this place in Summers, so I couldn't enjoy the feast of Mutton Nihari and different types of roti. So, I ordered :- 1. Mutton Stew ( INR 150 Half plate ) 2. Chicken Korma ( INR 150 Half plate ) 3. Rumali roti ( INR 10 per roti ) 4. Chicken Biryani ( INR 50 Half plate ) Chicken Korma and Mutton Stew were prepared with very mild spices so that we can get the real flavors of the meat and not only the spices. Even after eating them, you won't feel heaviness. Due to usage of mild spices, the dishes are very light. There is usage of 1121 Golden Sella rice in biryani and the best part was that, there was no use of food colors. It was very simple and very soothing. Just loved it.

Best place for delicious non-vegetarian food. Mutton kaleji and stew a must try along Rumali roti and tandoori roti. Mutton nihari is availaible only during ramzan and winters do give it a try. Mutton biryani was Delicious too. A very busy place if you come here in evening or at night, you might have to wait to get a seat. No parking available. Pocket friendly too. Food is neither too expensive nor too cheap.

I see one of labour spiting in kulcha roti .. taste was good but we did not eat after that ..

Ajmeri has very unique way of preparing their Stew. The meat is tender and has all the flavors of stew in it(unlike boiled meat is added to curry as per order). Its aroma can be inhaled out of the shop. Chicken option is available too. If you are in Kanpur and roaming for great taste, this place is must. Their biryani rice will also amaze you. Take a seat and enjoy soulful meaty treat.

Nali Nihari and mutton biryani are my favourites specially in the month of Ramadan
