After trying in the evening and going back disappointed because the temple was closed even at 6.30 pm, that too after confirming with the priest from chennai about the timings etc of the temple and telling him when we would visit the temple. we decided we will not leave vaitheeswaran kovil, unless we have darshan, so we went again in the morning. It is also advisable to visit in the day time, due to the road conditions etc. Also a good idea would be to call the priest in advance prior to going to the temple. Road leading to the temple is not that good, filled with potholes and also too narrow, so one has to be careful especially with so many narrow turns. Finally we made it to the temple. which was comparatively small and also looked like the inner portions of the temple were reconstructed in the recent past. A east facing temple, lord faces east, ambal faces south, no rajagopuram, kodimaram present, a beautiful temple pond is present in front of the temple but sadly no water at all.

Beautiful padal Petra Sthalam. Ambience is very nice. Very powerful Shiva in the name of Kannayiram Udaiyar. 1000 eyes is carved in Shivalinga I heard. Marvelous temple pond is located in front of the temple.

It's the Most powerful temple of God shiva.. such a beautiful architectural work in the rural place.. but poor maintenance due to lack of fundings. The priest of this temple comes from vaitheeswarankovil daily twice for Making necessary poojas both Morning and evening it seems So the temple will be opened only until 6:00 pm Max. But during Sundays, pradhosham days & other important auspicious days for Lord Shiva , very Special to be here at those times The festival happened every Sundays of the tamil Month kaarttikai yearly Don't Miss this

These temples are abodes of Deities and I am not foolish enough to volunteer any gradings. But because of covid 19 these temples have lesser visitors and patronage. Even lacking proper maintanance.
