Navaratna - North Indian restaurant in Thrissur - Thrissur, India

One of the descent restaurants available in Thrissur round. I have visited them couple of times and they are still maintaining the same level as of before. They serve the veg cuisine on the ground floor and non-veg cuisine on the first floor which is a good initiative in my opinion. The ambience, service and food are descent not exceptional. The biggest trouble with them is the parking, as they don't have a dedicated parking lot. We may need to park it in front of the restaurant on the road and that's something I hate about them.

Decent place for food that is available late until 11pm. The restaurant has undergone a renovation and looks much better than before. Food tastes good and the service is good. You may park either in the Vaddukkunathan Temple Parking Ground or if it is past 9, in front of the restaurant. Overall a good place if you are looking for a late night family restaurant.

Nice place for relax fooding. Naikanal, thrissur. Have variety vegetarian and non vegetarian food options. Not crowded here. Fresh items. They will cut cut chicken pieces after our order. Some times there is Biriyani Mela. You get a lot of variety type of Biriyani. Navaratna have special own Biriyani that is Navaratna Biriyani ( Veg). And also check Navaratna Veg Curry. It's a good hotel , cozy and quiet . Parking space is not easy to find as it's in the heart of Thrissur - The Round where Thrissur Pooram is held. The hotel is old and was famous earlier . Now there are many hotels in Thrissur and hence Navratna is less busy compared to old times. Anyway the food is great . You won't get beef here though. Other non-veg foods are available.

DON'T GO if you have another option (detailed review below ) DON'T GO if you are not sure DON'T GO if you ever ate good food DON'T GO whatever your reason. 1. Parking There was no such a thing, just put your vehicle infront. Glad I reached on night and it was not busy. Mostly you might get a parking ticket from police 2. Ambience The place was literally empty. While other restaurants are overcrowded at the same time, this was empty. 3. Cleanliness The historic table cloth they used since 70 years never changed, even its torn, but its still there. Other than that its okay I think. 4. Food Remember what I said first? Don't go? is just for this reason. We ordered a Chicken Hot & Sour Soup, Butter Naan & Butter Chicken Masala. Soup - Just a mediocre soup overloaded with cabbage i guess or something. It was thick but less tasty. Butter Naan - It reminded me of Rubber sheet. So thick, rubbery and tasteless (see image) Butter chicken - Here comes the finale, the rotten chicken which is in black color leaving the fridge for the first time in this month? A quiet and peaceful restaurant located in the heart of the city. The antique interiors give a sense of an upscale place. Food is fine and a bit expensive. Separate floors for Veg (Ground floor) and Non Veg (First floor). The Tandoor Platter contains a Naan, a Roti, some Gravy and two pieces each of Tandoori Chicken and Chicken Tikka. The chicken items were good except for the gravy. Roti and Naan tasted the same. The platter does not contain the usual mint chutney that comes with Tandoor items. I won't recommend the Black Panther (though the name makes you curious) for dessert. It contains Chocolate Ice Cream with Cola (not the greatest combination).

We ordered for fried rice and chineese gravies for dinner but it literally took ages to deliver the food.....they took around 1.5 hrs to deliver this course of food......and the worst part is....it took around 45 mins just for serving a mere French fries....... absolutely ridiculous and dissatisfied

Egg fuyong - okay. I don't know how it is supposed to taste, so can't comment. This was like normal omelet with some veggies. Porotta- Hard as a rock. Dragon chicken - worst Paneer rasa something - okayish Been here multiple times. This was the worst experience. Ambience as always was nice with good service. But food They were saying their kitchen is under service but not an acceptable reason. You are not supposed to serve food like this .
